New Jackson Rhoads CD1

Crazy how guitars are now expensive. The CD1 is 3500$ Canadian and you have to add your local sales taxes over that. In early 2014 I bought a brand new Music Man JP6 with a nice solid case for 1800$ Canadian all in.

I agree that 2500 is Over The Mountain too expensive. I did recently buy a Charvel USA hardtail SS for 2700. Which is still too much IMO; it's been 35 years since I bought a new guitar. But, I've always wanted a HT Charvel of some kind.
But this damn thing sounds and plays like a Custom Shop IMO. I've had 2 CS Charvels over the years; this is every bit as good tone wise/playability. If there's a guitar that makes a JB sound killer, we have a winner. I usually don't care for JBs as I hear a mid harshness with most guitars that I can't unhear.

I guess I don't remember the toggle switch being on top of the body edge like that. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not???:dunno:

I'm not a purist, love the style, but would need to see them improve the upper fret access before forking over a lot for it. It was just a prototype, after all......I'm sure it would've been updated before long for Randy.

The recent MJ Concorde-ish model with Floyd and perfect upper access is what I would go for, although I would have to toss the EMGs and find some passives for it.
He literally had the shape changed for the second guitar he had Grover make him

@sytharnia1560 thanks for clarifying this. I always thought that V was like a LP with a different shape, 4 knobs and switch position (see photo)? Do you know if the scale was a shorter one such as a LP?
