They've dropped some new models a few months back, I didn't know they're made in Indonesia now. SS frets. Pretty loaded. This one's 🔥

When the Pro Mod Plus first came out, China was the main source of manufacturing.

The one I bought was Mexico. I bought the white one and returned it. It had many finsh flaws and ding in the side of the neck. Total letdown.

Was there even a Chinese made Pro Mod series at all? I thought it was all Mexico

what pickups are you guys putting in these? Franklin guitar works has been blowing out the MIM dk24s, and i picked up a new one for $650. I don't love the Full Shred in it

What don’t you like about it?

Of the newerish models, which are the decent above average mid priced ones ($1500 range). And from which countries? I'm a Charvel newb.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just bought the shell pink DK24 for $650. I’ve bought Charvels at blow out prices from Franklin before. They are great. I have the Full Shred in one or two other Charvels. I prefer the JB or Distortion but the Full Shred is decent as well.

IDK I have had quite a few Indo guitars in my hands. As nice as I always think they feel, when something else from Japan or the like hits my hands - it isn't even close. Hell, a Mexi srat does it for me better than anything I have played made in Indo by pretty much any manufacturer. To think, those 'cheaper' Strat/Tele models when I was young would blow so much out of the water in today's market. Ugh.

I have a MIJ So Cal....
Same.
Bough mine new in late 2010, for $800 or so...including an SKB case, quarter-sawn neck and fine alder body. None of that basswood crap.
Came with Dimarzio ToneZone (b) and Evo neck. Replaced them with a Super Distortion and Air Norton. Norton bridge was awesome too.
Impeccable finish and fret-work.

Added
-big brass FU trem block
-brass trem stopper
-EVH D-Tuna
-500k Push pull volume pot (parallel/series switching the Air Norton)
-mini toggle switch for coil split Super D.

This is one of those "I'm never selling it" guitars.

Aren't Jackson and Charvel made in the same (Fender) factories?

Not all of them. All the neck through Variants were made in Indonesia, the Dinkly's (bolt on) Mexico. The cheaper line was shifted to China 2 years ago. Then the Pro Plus series, were also shifted to China. Now, I see they are back at Indonesia on newer models.

Tariffs are probably having them shift production facilities.
