Growing up in Second Ward and Gulfton in Houston, we did tons of coke and other things but never entertained heroin. That old saying "Heroin Kills" was always around but hell, these days with the fentanyl in everything and shit like this, I can't count the number of people I know who have died now. My little brother passed-away from a heroin overdose in 2008 and now I wonder if there wasn't fentanyl in what he was shooting (he was a college student studying to take his last final before graduation when he was found by his roommates, no one would ever fess-up to anything when I confronted them so we'll never know the true details but he had been getting tested for the previous six months by the probation dept up there in the Denton area and passed all tests...the kids just said he was stressed over finals and wanted to get high...whatever, what's done is done and that's a whole other story).

Most of the people I know who have died recently have taken pressed pills - in Houston (as elsewhere), most of the pills are fakes and pressed and they'll most likely have fentanyl or who knows what thrown-in and people have no idea what the fuck they are taking. My wife's best friend's son died recently taking fentanyl-laced pills and that was a rough one to watch. I don't have much sympathy for the people that OD and die, my brother, even, but the people they leave behind my heart goes out to. I can't imagine fucking around with any of this shit that's out there these days.
