Ah, what would a gear forum be without homoeroticism?

just the term "gear" conjures up an entirely different thought process for some than others, or Gassing in search of finding something "thicker" to whet their particular appetite. I don't have a bone against homosexuality, or certainly one for it.

Now those A-Sexual mofos? you know, the "any port in a storm" dudes...well,

Welcome SBK, just be careful if someone drops the soap, unless of course, you're into that and then its ok..another way of saying "we have it all"

welcome my man. BEst of luck!!! How do you like that tele you got there? Mr Root special? I hear those sound pretty sick!

I actually took a chance on that Root and liked it..I have since changed the pickguard and plan to change the pickups soon.Prolly not gonna be a real JR Tele when I get done with it. I guess as I am getting older my tonal preferences have changed where I use to put EMG`s in all my guitars.Anyway,I have a Rio BBQ laying around and I plan on getting a Rio Texas for the neck and installing an RS Guitarworks super pot that I bought a while back to see if that makes me happy.Been through tons of guitars over the years( Gibson LP Standard,Gibson Explorer,Fender Custom Shop Strat,PRS Custom 24,Numerous ESP`s and LTD`s,Peavey Wolfgang,G&L ASAT,old Charvels,etc..) and I am finally happy with the 3 electrics that I have now. But,still I want more.Been trying to get my stuff together after a move from the northeast,so I will try and get some updated pics soon, as I have recently updated my pedals and I picked up an old LAB series 5 amp to mess with.Oh did I mention...My wife and I have a baby due right now!!!

Thanks for the VERY warm welcome and making me feel right about signing up after trollling for a while.

Hey, if that's what you need to believe to get through the day Brad, so be it. We're a pretty understanding bunch. No judging here...we're all open minded adults.

And for everyone else, as usual, we'll be meeting at our regular spot for our Sunday Musical Sit In... Today's song of choice voted by you, the RT public. See you soon, and remember, hugs are free :)

Welcome. Sounds like we are about the same age and took similiar paths. I started playing when I was 15 and took an extended break in college and afterwards. Got back in to playing in the last 8 years or so. Its always been a part of my life but I just put it on the back burner for a number of years. Wish I hadn't wasted that time but I'm more passionate about guitar than ever. Welcome to Rig Talk. I have been a member of several forums but I feel like I fit in here a lot more. Not much attitude here. Just people who share a love for all things guitar.

Wow,that does sound familiar! I actually think I started playing bass when I was 15,but didnt start dabbling in guitar til I was 16 or 17.It all started after seeing Metallica when I was 14!!! 9th row in front of Cliff Burton..RIP..

Howdy. At first glance when I saw the warmoth, I thought it was one of the Warren DeMartini Performance guitars. Nice collection :)

I made some changes to that guitar since that pic was taken. I could not stand the position of the lone volume knob( my fault for ordering it that way) and I had this awesome tech that works right across the street from Berklee put a plug in it and change the position. He also installed a JB and a Floyd upgrade brass block and did some work to the pot and added a treble bleed and some other mods that I cant even remember now and that guitar has the sweetest tone IMO.I call it the "Molecaster" now.
Here is the Molecaster..

Welcome aboard bro, I'm very jealous that you have a Lab-Series L5, I've wanted one of those forever.  I suspect we have several folks in here that would like one of those to tinker with

Was scrollin through Craigslist one day and found it for sale.Turns out the amp was given to this kid by his uncle and he didnt like it because it didn`t get the brootal metal tones he wanted and I bought it off of him for 120.00.It does really have a nice clean tone, but if your looking for some nice overdriven sounds, you have to run some pedals through it.

Welcome aboard! I also Rock a Splawn,
Fantastic Rock Amp.
I laughed, alot of younger dudes
don't even know what 78 speed is.
So I guess that means we grew up in the 70's & 80's
Good Times!!

I would like to have the preamp section out of it to try to get some Ty Tabor tones
PM me if you ever want to sell it ;)

Yeah, exactly why I bought it.Did you catch the series of videos with Ty recently talking about gear and what not? Cool stuff! Ty is my favorite player as is Kings X one of my favorite bands.

Yeah, we've been talking about them on/off for weeks. Those guys are awesome. He's one of my biggest influences on guitar

Am I the only one that thinks Ty`s tone on the recent Live in London DVD to be "UN-TY like"? I think its still good compared to alot of others, but just sounds like it has to much fizz and not like that HUGE Ty tone that I am used to.Could it be that since they were overseas that he didnt have his main rig or just production?
