His rig has changed drastically since the early albums, that has been the topic of much discussion here. Everything he's using is different from the pickups to the speakers and everything in between. He was having too many issues to continue using it. I actually loved his tone on the LIL dvd, but its nothing like the early tones for sure. Its still very good, but different. He did not have his regular rig for the show, he had his rack with his Egnator modules and fx in it, and used Marshall heads as pwr amps with Marshall cabs. He's not even using the rig on the dvd now, its changed again since that was done. We have some folks here on the forum who have assisted Ty in his tone quest over the years with amps and pickups, its really cool to hear the input they have on the matter.
At the moment he is using an AXE-FX by Fractal Audio, but I have not heard anything from that rig yet
Great to have another KX guy here   We are a small but dedicated unstable group

Welcome aboard! I also Rock a Splawn,
Fantastic Rock Amp.
I laughed, alot of younger dudes
don't even know what 78 speed is.
So I guess that means we grew up in the 70's & 80's
Good Times!!
I figured the older dudes would get that and the younger ones would be like,WTF?? He took 78 hits of speed?

I just tried imagining "The Chipmunks" sounding lyrics to NIB, Sweet Leaf and Fairies Wear Boots...

Now, on a same vein but different, if anyone ever took 78 hits of speed, I'd put my money on Lemmy.

Peace,
V.

I have seen those guys like 3 times over the last couple of years and his tone was MONSTROUS! From what I can see in the video,he still has his rack with Egnater preamps and I do see the Marshall heads, but not sure what kind of role they play if any in the show.I thought he was only using the Axe-Fx for his effects? He stated in that recent video that he used it for Trip Magnet, but thats a whole different type sound than he normally goes for on that album. Its been years since he has used the Lab series and he explains why in that video.Anyway, glad to see some other X junkies on here..
