I probably have told you about my Slipknot story, with their guitar player Mick. But I will forever be a fan of them for that day...he really was such a real dude at a time I was so young and still learning.

It was at Ozzfest in STL. My friend Ryan was a huge fan of slipknot, and was going to all their concerts up in Iowa...we went back and chilled on the bus after the Stl shoe. At the time, I was tuned down and playing a Ibanez AX7. Mick told me about why he didn't get into the harmonic 7 string center of a guitar, and why he chose those guitars. He was just a real dude, and it meant a lot to me.

This band just never did much for me outside a few songs on the first album, but props to them for becoming the metal institution they have been for almost 30 years now

Paul Stanley was the same for me when I was a kid. Met him at Brian Guitars in New Haven, CT when I was buying my first real guitar. Told the story here awhile back.
Still a Kiss and Paul Stanley fan today.

Your love for kiss makes more sense in that light.
I met david lee roths guitarist at a gig, he sat in and played cold shot and then got us backstage to rib fest where dlr was playing but i still think dlr sucks.
Well tween me was a big Kiss fan, we were a key demographic, before that meeting happened.
It probably lasted 1-2 minutes, and I don't remember much of what was said... meeting one of your favorite musicians as a kid is overwhelming...this was back before the makeup came off, so seeing one of them in person without makeup was a big deal...none of my friends believed me, probably still don't.

Hung out with Mick at The Beauty Bar on Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood for a few hours during the Subliminal Versus era...What a nice guy, and loves to talk amps and guitars.
