I'm having a difficult time accepting the fact that their new album is now fetching $200+ online now.

Something of note, in the liner the band (Adam) thanks Bogner, Diezel, Mesa, Rivera and Fryette.
I wonder what the specifics are. Diezel is obviously the VH4 and Mesa is probably the cabinets. I wonder what Bogner, Rivera, and Fryette gear he used. Rivera may be the K-Tre from 10,000 Days, but the Bogner and Fryette are a mystery.
I'm looking forward to a Baressi or Jones interview on the tone. I agree, his tone is killer on this album, but so is the overall production. Spent much of my workday with headphones on listening to the album. Now at home on my Sonos system enjoying it.
Think I saw $280.BeZo":27gp20wi said:I'm having a difficult time accepting the fact that their new album is now fetching $200+ online now.

So I don't think they would be thanking a person at Mesa just because he's used their cabinets for years.
I'm thinking he brought the Rectifier out again for some parts.. at first listen I was hearing at least four different guitar amps throughout the songs. Much of his syncopated open low E riffing is clearer and dryer than usual so I'm thinking I'm hearing a Fryette on some of those parts.

Yep. They should have done themselves and their fans a favour and disbanded 15 years ago when their record was immaculate.155":2tj72gnp said:im not feeling it at all... same shit all the songs sound like recycled riffs from years past...not worth the wait

Totally agree. Tool’s being ripped for sounding like Tool. Bottom line is, they’re doing their thing and at an extremely high level. What more could somebody want or expect from them?D-Rock":x8kyvonf said:I don't hear recycled riffs I hear trademark riffs.
This album definitely isn't for the instant gratification and gimme gimme crowd.
Smart way to weed out the disloyal and disillusioned listeners though. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Actually no, they have a number of songs that I don't like. Oh and nice cliche internet Tool fan insult. At least come up with something original.Vin Diezel":uyl7qkoc said:D-Rock":uyl7qkoc said:I don't hear recycled riffs I hear trademark riffs.
