Definitely has Doug's signature all over it and yes....what happened to Coverdale? Man he's looking rough!

Damn Coverdale needs to lay off of Joan River's medicine cabinet...........................he is going for the Paul Stanley frozen face look I see.

Love Doug but I miss his Cameron days.........................superstrat days as well.

No kidding.. Love has burned Coverdale a few times too I'm sure.. by the time he hits 70 (in what 2 years?) his 28 year old hot ass gf will look for the next pogo stick to ride that has a fat wallet.

My only question is, why does Reb Beach never get a lead?? i know he is primarily rythm and he taps an aweful lot but when he goes easy on the tapping he rips it up. I found the solo in this song to have a few too many hammers/pull offs but it was sweet in spots. Just could do without the Dave Murray pull off on slaught!
Doug is the Music Director for Whitesnake. Reb cut several leads for the last album but Doug only used two of them in the end. Reb was less than happy about it but understands that it is what it is.
It would be cool if Reb got more solos IMO as I like his style better than Doug's but they're both great players.

Coverdale was born in 1951. The dude is 60 years old and has rocked with some incredible bands. Give him a break. I think he looks weathered but has not had (obvious) plastic surgery. And since when is it about looks (for a guy) in a rock band?

Coverdale still sounds good, but damm, at this point in his life shouldn't he be reading bedtime stories to his grand kids. I doubt he needs the money unless his lawyer's in the past cleaned him out.

They shouldn't have closeups of DC, that was frightening...he did not age well

Im curious as to what Whitesnake would sound like if Reb was given the opportunity the be the lead guitarist over Doug. Not that i dont really like Doug, Im just a big Reb fan think he comes up with some great tasty licks and solos. I think it'd be cool if Doug worked on the rhythm stuff and let Reb do his thing on all the leads and solos.

Doug is a great player and def. brings it but when i watch that live DVD they released a few years back, I quite enjoyed a lot of Reb's playing as well as his tone. To be honest, people say Reb taps too much and he does, but Doug constantly alternate picks those fast runs which can sound awefully messy and similar everytime. I actually found on that live CD that he over plays and that there needs to be more balance. Feel bad for Reb. Yes he dreamed of playing in whitesnake (so he says) but I'm sure he would appreciate to be recognized for his skills as well. They should share more of the leads.

I've heard a radio interview with Reb where he stated that his number 1 band and priority was Winger and that Whitesnake was just a sideline project. I can tell you that Reb's guitar work on the latest Winger album was just freakin awesome!!! In all honesty, I like both Doug and Reb about the same, but I agree that it was cool to see Reb rip it on that live DVD.

IIRC there was an interview with David explaining the whole Reb situation.

It is my understanding that Doug was aked by Coverdale to be in the band and Im pretty sure that they were already set to go with one guitar player.
Reb is a huge Whitesnake fan and started campaigning to be in the band. Somehow either him or his lawyers got in contact with Dave and after numerous calls David finally relented and let him in the band.
Id be willing to bet that this made Reb appear to be second fiddle in David's Mind and Id also be willing to bet that is why he is treated like the red headed step child LMAO!!

In my humble opinion I agree with Pete and I hope Reb is getting paid a lot of money but I highly doubt it. What puzzles me is why he would subject himself to this treatment. I know gigs are hard to come by but I'm pretty sure that he could find something else. I don't buy that notion that he is doing this only for money and if he is, he is being stupid because there are better paying gigs out there.
He is talented enough to land a gig like Nuno is doing and to be honest with you, Id rather do that and make some cash then to always have to take the back seat .

If I'm being honest, Doug is a much better fit for that band plain and simple but even though I love Doug, I feel for Reb and think that he should bail.

All IMHO

Did you guys ever think that Reb might be doing it for fun...and a maybe little bit of money? And it's one more feather in his resume cap, not that he needs it.

If I got a gig with my favorite band from boyhood, I'd be incredibly stoked.

Anything is possible. There has got to be a reason why he is doing the gig. That's for sure but none the less, If the fans are noticing his treatment, then Im sure he is to.

Reb definitely is the second guitar player, there´s no question that Doug is number one in that band. But a steady paycheck and touring the world is enough to keep any working musician in a band, no matter how little spotlight he gets.

Sounds like Reb is to Whitesnake what Vivian Campbell is to Def Leppard.

It really sounds like Reb take the into part of the lead. All the whammy bar stuff that happens and the video shows Doug just doing rhythm while that's going on, but yeah it's not much.

Regardless of whether or not he is doing it for fun.. after a few years of watching Doug do all the leads he has got to be thinking "man, I have something killer right for that break" etc.. and it must start to feel discouraging when Coverdale doesn't bother to notice either. Reb"s live stuff with dokken was kind of interesting hearing him play lynch"s leads was cool. He is a monster rythm player too though..

Saw Reb play with Dokken supporting Up from the Ashes maybe...was pretty excellent but I don't think his stuff fits Whitesnake as well as Dougs.

Doug fits the Whitesnake material WAY better and i love what he did with the last album got them back to their roots in a modern way. I think too many folk still think Whitesnake began with 1987 hahahaha.
Saying that Reb is a killer player, his stuff with Winger , The Mob, solo etc slays, i have some great demo stuff somewhere of him doing fusion .... AWESOME !!
But maybe he's happy playing second fiddle ?? way less pressure, still gets to be a rockstar and let him rip on the odd solo and packed arenas and tour the world ....... sounds canny ;)

Wait...that wasn't really Coverdale, it was the Madam Tussaud version
