love whitesnake last album was pretty decent .but I have to be honest .this does nothing for me .i think the song is cheese and plain weak ..hopefully the rest of the record rocks.
Reb in Winger and the last winger album was much better than this song

Hey how about that!!!! Alice Cooper the new singer for WhiteSnake...lol

As for Coverdale a guy in his 60's that has lived the life he has, I would kill to be rockin like him and still look like he does!! Think about the life he has lived man....its crazy how these guys look and are able to get around at thier age considering all the time they have spent in a drunken/drugged stupor and bangin 300 different chicks a year...surprised any of them dont die of an STD, Overdose, or liver damage!! I know that I could never have pictured any of the bands I saw as a teenager to still be rockin at age 60!

Coverdale still sounds good, but damm, at this point in his life shouldn't he be reading bedtime stories to his grand kids. I doubt he needs the money unless his lawyer's in the past cleaned him out.

Like you wouldn't love to still be kicking ass in a badass rock band when you're 60 IF you could?! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...

As for the tune, it sounds like they picked up right where they left off with the last record, which is to say, kickin' ass, IMO!

I think some people are letting their Cameron fanboi-ism cloud their perspective on Doug's tone, but what the hell, tone is always an entirely subjective concept, anyway, so to each his own on that one. Even though I think it's pretty obvious that Doug is the alpha dog on guitar in that band, it is pretty weak that they couldn't at least throw Reb a little love in the video editing department, I mean, it's not like he's the bass player or anything! :D

As great a guitar player as Aldrich may be, he is no songwriter like Sykes was/is. The fact that there is that blatant Sykes lick in the solo of the song in the OP shows that Sykes style has to be present in the songs...I would not doubt it AT ALL if Coverdale communicated that to Doug.

His tone in the video that Pete posted is terrible. Sounds like my speakers just ate a Quarter Pounder and pooped it out into my living room. :bleh:

Doug's best tone and playing, IMO of course, was with Dio, especially on the Evil or Divine DVD. That simply is some of the best high gain tone I have ever heard.

Slip of the Tongue=best Whitesnake lineup ever.

Guys! Steve Vai is now a member of Rig Talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome! Glad you signed up Steve. You better block Digital Jams or get a restraining order if you want to stay here though.

;)

I have these cools pics of me and Steve while holding EVO during a meet and great and no cops were needed n00b.

Deeper the Love solo is a masterpiece, tone was a bit thin................ok real thin.............but the solo was smoking.

Why are you wasting your time posting in this thread anyways??? Shouldn't you be pounding Michael Wagener for Tom Keiffer's contact infomation and bio???

The high gain tones he got with the Strat on Evil and Divine rocked! So fat, and still clear :)

Hmm... definitely interesting to say the least. That was a decent tune overall. I felt the chorus could've been more anthem-like, but overall it was pretty cool. Doug's solo was certainly the high point... that guy is killer!

On a similar note... here's a recent (mid 2010 I believe) single by Ratt that gave me the same "revive the eighties" type of vibe. It's great to see this stuff coming back!

When Sykes left Whitesnake, they were done for me.

When i was 32 and playing in front of 21 year old's i felt a little weird so don't think that what you consider desirable is what others think. And it's also in your opinion that Whitesnake is kicking ass these days, i don't share that opinion.

I think the current lineup has kept the flame alive. They take the classic Whitesnake sound and put a new spin on it.
