I'd consider one if they had a more traditional headstock. That's the only thing keeping me from buying one. I looked at them, and it stuck out like a sore thumb, and I couldn't get past it. Silly, I know, but picky I am, (and OCD).

They're nice, however. Japan Custom Shop is top-shelf! Don't know why they can't make a traditional thickness Eclipse, even in the E-II cheap stuff!

Yes indeed... The ESP logo is actually metal... I think polished aluminum.

Yeah, they started doing that on the Truckster model (I think they've changed the logo slightly since the Truckster, though.) I didn't look closely enough at the logo on my old Truckster to notice what it was made from, but I always assumed it was a plastic. Wiz would know better than I because it's been years since I had that guitar and I'm just working from memory.

Those frets look amazing,probably better than my ibanez Prestige models ! Yep I like both of those,the Black grows on you,and I like the White ones too...nice guitars there !

The fretwork is absolutely top notch. Suhr (plekked), Tom Anderson, PRS... take your pick... the ESP Custom Shop stuff will hang in there right with, if not surpass them. Smooth as glass.

Awesome purchases!!! Till the day we die, all of us diehard Metallica fans will always associate black explorer shapes with Hetfield riffs like Angus and his SG or Yngwie with a Strat.

I always associate white explorers with Hetfield I just wished they stayed white, I should play mine more but man that nasty tooth yellow it turned to just doesn't do it for me.

This +1... and what is more metal than black?

The iconic Papa Het for me is the black MX250 circa the Black album.

Still have both, love both. You can’t wrong either way.

I wound up liking the Vulture more than I thought I would. The Snake is the best evolution of the Explorer design. Like Gibson should’ve done, but never did. Both are pretty much flawless as far as playability go. The problem will be, when you get one... you’ll want the other.

Good to hear you are still digging them both. I am leaning towards a Black Snakebyte as I've always wanted one.
ESP Snakebyte has been discontinued so I want to pick one up in case the price starts to crawl up higher.
I do like the Vulture too I might buy the LTD version later on.
