Yeah, I went there and looked at the flame maple rings (posted the link above), but I can't see how those would look good on this particular guitar... Maybe if they were painted like the guitar, but otherwise they'd look out of place to me... What specific rings do you think would look good on this guitar? Just wondering...

Actually have some more thought, I would keep the chrome rings and change the pickups to some sort of humbuckers with zebra bobins/coils. Or chrome EMGs. This is just splitting hairs as the guitar is bad ass as is.
