Non gibson single cuts

Used Heritage or a used Orville by Gibson. I’ve been looking for something similar, but I prefer the baseball bats lol

I’d take a look at scottsan’s Greco thread.
This. A Greco will give you the best 'replica' experience IMO. I had a MIJ 90s Edwards Sykes and while cool, it was not as 'accurate' as the Greco I've owned. Nice guitar though. If you buy one from 77-89, you should be good to go. Make sure it has a serial # as later on, 90s they started farming them off to Korea/China if it matters to you.

Gibson Studio. The copies all suck unless you just take artsy pictures of them.
And what copies would you specifically be referring to? If it wasn’t for these “copies” in the 80s destroying what Gibson had been putting out since the Norlin era, Gibson would never had to address there quality issues and realize the Market for more accurate spec guitars. These “copies” are far more accurate to vintage spec than most of Gibson’s non-custom shop product lines out today. Japanese makers had custom shop level models almost a decade before Gibson pulled their head out of their butts

If you can find one, a Bacchus BLP model smokes. Identical to a Gibson, great quality, and unlike a lot of copies they accept USA-sized hardware which is always a plus.

I’ve had six Japanese Bacchus guitars, my buddy has two, and every one of them have been consistently great guitars, for less than half the cash of a Gibson.

Is there any good places to look besides reverb for one of these? Reverb just has Chinese models

I’ve found mine on Reverb and EBay. Rakuten used to sell new ones at really good prices. Like everything else used, the prices are very high. There’s a few nice ones on Reverb for around $1200.

You should also look at “crews maniac sound”. It a house brand for one of the larger music stores and their lower tier is made by (devisor) Bacchus. All of the he crews stuff I’d great.

I would keep my money and wait for a certain forumite from Michigan to list a Heritage LP and then jump on it

Hard to beat a used ESP Eclipse II regardless of price point. ESP fit and finish are generally impeccable and I would give them the Pepsi challenge against just about anything. I gigged on (and still have) an EC-1000, and it can be had used for under 700 bucks. Hard to beat that.

That’s pretty solid advice too. He knows how to find them!
