The best deal I ever got was a 2x15 Ampeg bass cabinet for $50 that was basically brand new at a yard sale. The best deal before that was a white Anniversary Marshall 2000 series head (6 6550s) for $150 in the parking lot of East Coast Music Mall off some kid and his dad when they were offered $50 for it on a trade inside the store by sleeze bag Ed Roman... oh, and a real vintage Tychobrae Pedal Flanger for like $25 at a mom and pop music store, basically brand new but without the cool wooden box they came in.

Joe Bonamassa might buy it and then he can show it on another Rig Rundown.

Ed, was all business and knew how to make $$$$, he and I got along because I bought a few guitars from him and his partner, Morgan Pettino. I thought Ed was a great guy. He gave me solid advice and sold me Jackson USA guitars for a 50% discount. Alway half price, any guitar, who does that now-a-days?

Morgan went out of his way to sell my Soundcraft TS-12 monster recording console that nobody else would touch. I miss East Coast Sound!

I have a 69'. Two years ago I had it appraised....was told not to take less than $12,000.... could get $14,000.

This would be selling to private party.

That is beautiful! Is that just a reflection where the neck pocket meets the neck underneath the 17th fret?

Yeah, just a reflection or something. I've seen the guitar in person. Its flawless.

It needs to be "RELIC'D" hahaha... . I'm older than most on this forum, but my first guitar in 1974 was a 66 strat. . Still have it . The pickups have a 1964 date on them, but the neck is 1966. . People didn't swap pickups and necks back then , so I've always assumed the pickups were just on the shelf for quite some time. Who knows. Anyway, mine is relic'd as hell from being played many years . :)

He knew how to fake (counterfeit) guitars too. Look into the case of the missing Charvel San Dimas neckplates... it’s WIDELY known Ed was a sleezy shit artist.

He bragged on his website about how if you sign an NDA, he would pretty much do anything. He also talked about how he was brought into a room and was shown Japanese builders making fake vintage Fenders that "even he couldn't tell were fake". To his credit, he widely did warn people NOT to buy vintage Fenders unless you had provenance and knew for sure what you were getting. Pretty scary shit. I only dealt with him once, trying to buy some of his Blackback Duncans, and he was a total asshole on the phone.
