I posted about these guys in a thread over at GAB and I thought some here might dig this...
I grew up listening to these guys in the 70s when I was a kid in New York and although they are not metal, the guitar playing is incredible and I love the singer. The tasty guitar playing really made me start to think beyond simple pentatonics. Check 'em out, incredible band. Lots of jazz influence and great, old hard rock. This is from their best album in '74, so consider that this is really old stuff. They never got much beyond local clubs and stuff, but the drummer worked with Vinnie Moore and Blues Saraceno and was in Twisted Sister and Widowmaker:
