So, long story, but we have two houses. I've explained before, might catch you up later if anyone is interested… Regardless, I mowed the house where we live (the Mrs’ house) today. It’s a corner lot. The front of the house is parallel to the street but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE is square or parallel or perpendicular. There is no way to mow and have stripes that look intentional. No matter what you do, every side ends up with a partial strip. Looks like you drunk mowed - even if you didn’t 😀. Drives me fucking nuts…

Pick an boarder and mow all the lines in that direction around the house, and pick a different direction every time. It doesn't matter if your lines line up with the street or a property line. They just need to all be straight.

Try having a an acre of half of grass wide open, except rocks sticking up from the ground screw up the chance at any straight lines in all but a few areas. I did have enough space to carve a large "screw biden" billboard into my back field when I was shut in during covid.

But I can relate. Our house is at a slight angle to the property line and my OCD kicks in a little. But, as you know, you are supposed to cut it a different ways each time or at least have two different patterns to minimize ruts. I have about an acre here at the house and 5 acres at the cabin with a Cub Cadet at each. The cabin is easier because it is essentially a grass field, and I just go around in circles.

Cutting on the diagonal makes it slightly (VERY slightly) better, but the number of turns makes it take significantly longer to finish. It’s bullshit 😆
I can relate

This is the older one that is normally at my cabin. Love it. Such a work horse. I actually enjoy cutting the grass :dunno:

We have to cut grass nearly year round, it is the biggest pain in my ass ever. By the time I get done with all of it I have to sharpen the blades and start at it again.. we have a Kubota ZTR with a 3 cylinder diesel that has been amazingly durable through it all. I’ve put 1600 hours on it in 8 years and only put blades and belts and fuel/hydrostat filters on it. I keep a strict servicing schedule on it and it’s paid off in almost zero repairs, but I keep everything on it greased and up to full combat ready condition. Takes nearly 6 hours to go through everything on it.. 😡😡
I hate mowing, but I love that Kubota!
