Classic Van Halen vocalist David Lee Roth was among the musicians who have shared their tributes and condolences to the late Eddie Van Halen, who left us yesterday (October 6) after a battle with cancer.
Roth shared a photo of him and Eddie, writing: "What a Long Great Trip It's Been.."
Classic Van Halen Michael Anthony also commented through his social channels, writing: "No words...Heartbroken, my love to the family."
Eddie's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli wrote:
"40 years ago my life changed forever when I met you. You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang. Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin. I'm so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love."
Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar wrote: "Heartbroken and speechless. My love to the family."
Funny story worth documenting but didn't want to create a whole thread for it.
Basically, it is a story Wolfgang told Spin about pranking David Lee Roth.

tl;dr DLR used to hate beach balls bouncing around out in the audience for some reason. So on the last song (Jump) of the last date of their last tour which turns out to be the last time the 4 of them were on stage together for the last show (that I'm sure you've all seen by now) the road manager pranked DLR by dropping 50 beach balls onto the audience.
LOL
And while I am at it, here are 2 different stories where Wolfie is confirming that they were indeed planning a reunion with Sammy and Mikey.
