Thought this might be cool to have here on RT. Not sure how many 7 string players we have here on RT, I know there are a few that I recognize from SS.org.

I have been getting way more into 7's over the last year or so even though I have owned a 7 string guitar for 10 years. It just never got any play time. :aww: I recently got tired of playing in drop tunings and wanted to remain brutal but have the ability to write riffs in standard tuning. So I grabbed my 7 that was sitting there for years and started writing. I cam up with a ton of riffs and really had a creative explosion. Then I bought my 2nd 7 string and I have been rocking that shit ever since. Now, all this being said, I still LOVE my LPC's, they aren't going anywhere and I still play them all the time. I just like having the option to go to a 7 if I want.

Post up what you have what you are tuned to or any other relevant info you want.

My first 7: ESP/LTD H-207 tuned standard BEADGBE

I am a 7 noob but I am really diggin them. I like to practice/warm up on the 7 and then switch to a 6 because then I fucking rip!!! :D   I am enjoying writing on a seven.

Agile Interceptor BEADGBE

Schecter Prototype Hellraiser BEADGBE

I think I am going to sell this one because the neck is too fucking fat for me. :aww:

Nice guitars! I have heard that the Schecters have fat necks. My ESP has a killer neck on it. My BRJ is a tad bigger but still very comfortable. I have another BRJ coming with the shredder profile coming. Can't wait for that.

I've only got two 7s here at the moment

KxK Sii-7 blue marbalize, currently tuned to drop A (AEADGBE)... maple neck through, mahogany wings, birdseye maple board, sperzel tuners, piezo, BKP Cold Sweat neck / Nailbomb bridge

(yes these photos suck, I need to do some new ones with out new camera soon)

I have a Schecter Loomis and I love the way it plays. It doesn't get much use, but I've written a few cool riffs with it.

I usually tune standard flat.

Thanks man. For an inexpensive guitar the Agile plays really great.
Post up that bad mofo when you get it, would love to see it.

i've been playing 7s exclusively for almost 15 years now. i'm no great player or anything, but i love the flexibility of being able to play low D and B without retuning. my fav is playing a standard 2nd position D chord but with my thumb hung over the neck at the 3rd fret to add in a low D root. and playing Sabbath tunes in B!

i've got a couple Ibanez custom shop 7s that i snagged off ebay years ago, and a mahogany Ibanez S7 copy that i built myself:

That is sick as fuck! What did that cost? You ever decide you need to part with that let me know.

Nice collections guys.

kt: I've owned Agiles and Schecters, the necks on them aren't thin but they're not as bad as a lot of guys make them out to be... a lot of seven guys seem to be hooked on the Ibanez mentality that if it's not as thin as a piece of paper then it's unplayable lol

Thanks, and it plays as good as it looks

Honestly it was part of a discounted run a couple years ago and I paid when I ordered so it's a bit fuzzy, but I believe that one was around $2500 with the charges for the OFR, BKPs, custom inlay, and HoK paint.

I REALLY want to get in on the 7 Scale fanned fret models KxK is doing now but have too much stuff on order already... got 3 in progress with KxK: a PMC swirled bolt on, exotic wood neck through (rosewood/ebony neck, black limba wings, bubinga top), and a set neck koa topped semi-hollow

Scott: still love that ibby and the S copy is amazing

This is the only other pic I have of my other 7, but they all look alike anyway.

Cap is in B. Ibby is in Bb.

  I have seen that as well. I like a bit of heft to my necks because it affects the tone so much, IMO. Too thin of a neck like a Wizard does not yield as much thickness and sustain in my experience.

Your KxKs are sick as hell. Especially the blue one. :worship:

 Right here! I love ss.org. 3 weeks ago I received my new Agile Interceptor Pro 828 EB Flame Purple Q - the thing is sick, way sick. I'm loving it...

Then later next week I'm going to receive my new Agile Septor Elite 727 DNC EB Tribal Red! I'm really digging on these USA Made Seymour Duncan Blackout Pickups (AH1-b). They are awesome for cleans and of-the-hook brutal for the heavy iron earth shaking blows.

This will complete my 6-7-8 string arsenal! :)

The Agile Septor Elite 727 DNC EB Tribal Red Looks like this:

I only have a lowly Ibanez RG 7421, but it has Blackouts now. Its actually pretty cool for a cheapie. Used to have a 7620 that was really cool.

I toy with the idea of selling all my sixs and just going 7....can't quite pull the trigger though.

Thanks  The neck on the blue one is VERY similar to the neck on the old Ibanez PWH 7s I used to have. The green scarab is slightly thicker and rounder in a custom profile I'm going with on all the in-progress KxKs. Feels perfect to my hands.

Awesome, man. That looks like a killer guitar. I have almost pulled the trigger on he 725 version of that as well. If I didn't have another BRJ coming I probably would have already done it.
