  You suck! :gethim: :D

Id still like to try an Axe sometime but not going to rush out and drop that kinda coin just to try it. Still if I had the money at the time I would have bought your Peacemaker before I would have gotten a AxeFX.

But I must say nicely played.

Well played sir. I didn't listen before you revealed the secret but now that I have I don't think I would have been able to tell that it wasn't a real amp. I think donbarzini wins todays golden ears award though...

I agree. I have to admit his answers to my questions about his experience both times with the Axe is big part to why I wont drop the coin just to try one. Me and donbarzini seem to have had alot of the same amps and I think we have simular tastes so if he said it didnt work for him, I take that advice in higher regard.

Fuggin hilarious man! Oh the power of suggestion. Yes the Axe does rule! Speaking of the power of suggestion and the "rico suave' " factor, you do know much to my dislike which president will get elected right?

We are such lemmings!

See...I can get this type of sound easily with the axe too...at home. But take it to the stage is where I'm failing so far. Another casino gig this friday to try some different things out.

Im not surprised, but then again I've heard POD clips that sounded real as well. I remember posting a clean fender clip and tricked everyone to think it was a blackface twin just do a similar exercise and it was my Roland on-board modeling stuff. I'd be convinced on the "feel" more than anything and how it can cut through a live mix with the power tube dynamics of a real amp turned up. But dude, if your stoked with it then im stoked for you. I'll stick to keeping it simple and pure. you rock!

i'm curious how it sounds without the vh backing....

and how it handles the lead tone factor--the Peacemaker had the sound both on rhythm and lead

maybe that can be your next clip

i knew enough to compliment the playing and not the tone
Low e was too loud compared to the rest. that didnt sound right to me.

So... let me get this straight. That clip did not sound good? It didn't sound like a real amp? C'mon man...

And the low E thing, I'm not hearing, however, I'm sure the EQ boost at 160Hz that I did post-recording gave that thump in the low end. I could certainly have done without that, but I liked how it sat in the mix that way...

I'll post just the guitar in this thread tonight with the post-EQ and without it...

It's easy to fake the ear with recording. You played (and blended your guitar/Axe-FX) to a VH track.
Pat is right. Isolate the guitar by itself....its a different story. The low E was loud. You probably shouldnt have EQd it, cause the deepest string was booming.

I would suggest begging for the PM back

But you thought it was the PM... Yup... not one word about "Sounds like a modeler"

And if I had posted just the guitar, you would have thought the same thing...

But... revisionist history is fun, ain't it, Carl?

Ah... I don't really care, its all good man... I proved my point and that is all there is to it... and this was with a preset I built in 1/2 hour, including tweaking. If I actually spent any time on it, who knows? I'm aware it doesn't sound exactly like the record... hell, I'm not even playing it right...

Don't need it. I'm building my own amp. The Axe-FX is just another tool...

I've conducted these type of experiments too. There's a good one on HC if you search for it, when I did my first Axe-Fx clip. There were nothing but compliments until I revealed that it was a modeler.

Why you got to do me like that Steve :gethim:

I was on my laptop when I listened.

went back a second time and re-listened and hear different things now.

The Don and I were playing ya......

I was just being nice and positive during your time of need and feel used now.

You are suffering from buyer's remorse and are looking for ways to feel better.

I posted in the wrong thread.

Yeah that is what I am sticking too.....................

I'm sorry, Digi... It was a dick move, but somebody had to do it... ;) :D

That is why, I put the post in that said exactly when I revealed the truth... Now it is easy to hear the clear "modeler" type properties of the clip...

Thanks, Ant! Just so you know, I'm not giving up on real amps... Here's a little progress on my PM replacement:

Axe is just another nice and fun tool... I'll use it for effects with my tube amps as well...

any clips of the egnater seminar amp?

with the axe-fx?

People have been fooled with POD clips in the past, so I'm not really suprised.

Note to self: Avoid sah5150's clips so as to avoid deception!

Those pics looks exactly the same as the "progress" pics you posted a week ago :gethim:

*hurry the eff up man, i'm dying to hear this thing!
