I don't need to hear it iso'ed. I know it is good tone and fits in that mix perfectly Steve. I hear the low end thump as well though although it isn't bad. Have you tried the Axe-FX thump parameter yet?

Thanks, Gary... Yup, I'm Thumpin'. The patch in this clip has 3.3 on Thump! Nice!

Most welcome man! Great tone is great tone and I call 'em as I see 'em, unlike a few others...lol

I LOVE the thump control, mixing that and the sag together will really get you a lot of sonic control just from those to parameters!

Gary

Great sounding clip! did you end up getting the standard or the ultra?

Its awesome Steve, tone and Playing. What are you using as a MIDI interface?

Thanks, brudda... I am using my trust old Emagic AMT 8 midi interface.

So the model was hard to play feel wise.....with the sag control could you make a dimed plexi type tone feel like a MK IV? I am thinking right now no due to the compression not being there or saturation.

Would be cool though, why fight the machine when you dont have to

So, what I meant was that the feel was the same to me as playing through a non-master Marshall-type amp set up the same way. I think playing with sag or any other model option to change the feel is gonna effect the tone as well. In other words, if you want it to sound the way the clip sounds, its gonna feel like a comparably setup amp... It would be cool if I was proved wrong on that though! :)

Oh I hear you and I was just thinking if you could make a plexi type tone with the axe-fx that felt like a MK IV, not judging the clip or anything. Now that would freaking rock

I think that youre pretty spot on about that Steve. If you check out the tips and tricks about getting a specific tone, the advice is right in line with what you said...

Isn't the point to get a good guitar tone in a mix? I mean, who cares what the guitar sounds like isolated by itself? The whole point is to make music, which requires other musicians playing together.

This is why I've always done the mini-tune format for clips. I've done a few guitar only clips over the years but I did them only because of requests, and I do that very rarely. If we lose the whole making music thing, guitar gets boring very, very fast for me. Without music behind me, I may as well be sitting in GC on a Saturday contributing to the hordes of flubbed notes, buzzy guitar tones and poorly played covers.

If the purpose of recording is to create music with other musicians and the guitar sounds good with them in a mix, what is being "faked"?

It's humorous that this has to be stated and silly how many don't get it.

Sounds like many of the Axe-Fx clips out there but everyone pats people on the back for those. I have to add, I'm not necessarily pertaining to the clips here, just go through the Fractal forums and take a listen.

Like this doen't apply to any forum and guys hanging together...

I do like this a lot.

As with any new toy of the month, only none of the vids or audio clips deliver, IMO

wait a few months, these things will be had at half price.
You know...I used to say the same, Ralph said the same....

I know man, there was that one clip though, prior to you getting your Axe-Fx, I wish I could find it, the one where you could not believe the "empty pocket". Everyone posted how awesome it was, must have been at the Fractal forum before the crash. I think it was "Beat It".
Good Lord I remember that one, that was beyond horrid and I said so...but the problem was the playing in the first place.

Wait til you hear what Ray has done recently with his old Marshalls. But still, I dig the LM clip.

what has he done?

I actually liked the Chinese Bogner shit better than this Axe-FX.

Its a sad state of amplification and music in general. Cds replaced albums. Albums sounded better.
Digital replaced tape. Tape, IMO sounds better....and walk in any sam Ash or GC and its loaded with kids playing digital trash.
They are dropping Mesa, Marshall, etc.

Top 7 threads were on this toy. Thats fuckin sad, man. :(

I thought, getting back on here, Id inquire about the Budda, Orange, Mesa roadster, but fuck...its toy of the month!!

One loser needs 3 guys to dial his shit while he stands there picking his ass?

Ill be melting my 6CA7's thru my UA
He played me some stuff of his new one that is just way cool.
I agree that CDs sound nowhere near what LPs sounded like, I think with the "right" converters hard disk can hang with 2 inch.

I like the Chinese Bogner stuff.
And speaking of Mesa...2 of the guys here have Roadsters they totally love it. Not sure I'd trade my T-verb for it, but it is way cool.
Budda...didn't Peavey buy them?
