Ok vid clip time for an amp brand nobody seems to talk about much... MORRIS

Looks like Glen is doing 2-channel versions of the UK67 & 68 now ... that's tempting.

That Strat has EMG Retroactive 60s pickups. Just a Partscaster. I’m actually going to be stealing that neck for another project as soon as I have some time to actually rip it apart. Haha
Those are some great sounding pickups. I think DanTravis recommended those a while back, if I'm not mistaken.

You are correct. I don't recall how it shook down if he had mentioned them and I bought them, or if I bought the and they popped up in talk on here shortly after. The body originally came to me with the Gilmour set which I didn't love, but I liked the functionality of the EMGs, so I sold the Gilmours and and got the RA's as a more "Traditional style" set of pickups

No, this is the only Morris I’ve ever seen in the wild and I’m really glad I bought it. I’d love to try a Perplexed. The one I have is actually serial #1

I have a Perplex’d. MGL is a different animal. Perplex’d is way more early-68 Plexi inspired, but definitely more polite/polished than the real thing. Glen will tell you he took out the things he didn’t like about a Marshall when he designed it, which he didn’t do with the UK series. The MGL is more metal panel tone on the vintage dirty and just goes far beyond from there, as you know. Both amps punch like no one’s business.

I would add that you “can” take the Marshall out of the UK series if that’s your thing. It’s not mine, but I have a 78’ and 67’ and there is a ton of sounds you can get with all the switches/modes/added controls. I had a Perplex’d and missed what my ears are accustomed to. The UK series fixed that and more.

I’m trying very hard to justify a UK amp 😂. Been chatting with Glen a bit about it. The MGL sounds sooooo good, but I imagine the UK would be different “enough” to potentially justify both. I love the Perplex’d, but like you, my ears want to hear the things it’s missing. The MGL delivers those things for sure but it leans more 800 and modded tones and less true Plexi tones.

I think that 78 sounds great from them. I will be getting to try a sirrom soon, too

The SIRROM is its own thing and I wouldn’t use that one to judge Glen’s line of amps. I do like the SIRROM, but it gets powered on the least of my amps below.
