Dunno about "only Recto."
My fav Recto tones were always blended with a Marshall.
Tool and Soundgarden, specifically.
I assume Korn was all Recto.
I think Woody from COC has been only Recto forever. But my fav tunes had Pepper in the mix with his .50 Cal +, which can be quite Marshally.

You're probably going to find some late 90s, early 2000s answers. Like Incubus.
The .50 cal + is more Mark series sounding than anything. I agree though, those first few albums with Pepper in the band have a great deal of good recto tones.

I'm trying to find out now...

sweet mother mary. my buddy is borrowing my 90s dual right now. i think its time to get it back.

what cab is that going through? as an IR/headphone weenie player, how loud is that in the room?
Very loud. That's my Atlas 4x12 and stock rev G boosted with an 808 and M6 pickup.

The Recto tones from Corrosion of Conformity's Blind album always sounded pretty outstanding to me.

Vote with a Bullet is absolutely brutal. Both Woody and Pepper have their SG's and Recto's dialed in just different enough to sound perfect in the mix. With headphones on, it's pretty easy to track the different parts. The breakdown at 2:52 post guitar solo used to jack off my blood pressure like no other back in the day!

There's definitely some post production modulation and compression but the sound is just so epic to my ears. I chased this sound for many years in the early/mid 90's..

Rectos weren’t around in ‘91. Maybe at Mesa still being prototyped at that point. Doesn’t sound like one on that album either.

Excellent point.

I saw them live a lot in the mid 90’s.

They always had SG’s and Dual Rec half stacks from what I recall.

I wonder what they used in the studio to record Blind. Any ideas?

SGs with Invaders, and Pepper used a Mesa 50cal+, at least on Blind and Deliverance. Not sure when Woody got his Dual Rec.
