I wonder how old rectos would stack up against the RI if they were sent to Mesa for new caps. 🤔

The older rectos stand up. I know many of them need service. I've played rectos not knowing a service was needed thinking it wasn't one of the good ones only to find out after taking them into the factory and learning how many parts needed to be replaced making it a completely new experience playing the amp. Additionally, I have two listed in the classifieds, one serviced at the factory and has a 90 day service warrantee from them, the other is a triple and both are priced for what I would consider a steal since they are in exceptional condition.

I have to laugh, since anything “Recto” sounds like a dept. at your local hospital, where a lot of sad guys shuffle round holding their asses!
I’d have loved owning a Rectoverb - simply because it would make me smile at gigs.

My Rec C was fully serviced and I still preferred the RI.
The RI is tighter, less boomy in the lows, and has better and juicier mids.
It’s all around more balanced.
Not dogging the C or any old two channel Rectos by any means, I love them, but the RI is that fuckin good.
