Old Guitar Day

So I was in my local pawn shop about 15 years ago-ish and I spotted an Ibanez that had the Frank Gambale or Jennifer Batten body (I guess 540 saber? ). Anyway it was definitely road worn but cheap and played well with good life left in the frets and fretboard. Definite shredder. Based on the serial I think it dates 1992 from Japanese Fujigen factory. (F233127). I bought it for 400 bucks with a hard case. I recall the owner having to go to prison for a bit for selling guns and meth so maybe they were trying to raise money. Idk and didn’t care. I brought the guitar to my local luthier created a new face for it because the wood looked like it had been used as a drum pad. I took a picture of the wood on the back to show what the original look was. I had him turn it into the 80s zebra print look- ala my decade of decadence. So I was thinking about the guitar lately and pulled it off the wall today, as it had been dormant for maybe 10 years, idly “watching” as all the others get their love. Dammit it plays so well. It’s like having a new guitar again.

Love those Japanese Fujigen "S" Series guitars. They are usually very light, and that body shape just "fits" and are super comfortable to play.

That actually looks really cool, but the gold Hardware looks ghetto.. LOL
Change the Trem, Knobs and Pickup Rings to BLACK and it will look mint.
Nobody is looking at the Tuners, so you could get away with not changing them. :ROFLMAO:

You said that like it was a bad thing. I hope to have teeth that match that hardware someday that way I won't ever be able to get a day job again.

Loving the hardware and the paint. I would've continued the theme on the back too. SWEET axe.

No. Pull until it rips off

The paint is actually mother of pearl or shell inlay. With gold around the inlay. Pretty slick job
Yeah man that is absolutely beautiful. I was thinking it might be silver leaf. Straight up pimp machine you got there man I love it. Make them other shredders jealous.

You have so much cool shit . Every lesson you learn we a different guitar and different amp I swear . You have to post your amp herd , it’s amazing

I made a goofy recording this morning for my professor to prove I was studying on a Saturday and not hung over. This is a clip of the guitar through a garbage boss practice amp. I hate cranking the tubes just for self practice. Weekly band camp is a different story. I really really need to invest in a computer interface. 🫤. I feel like my 81 year old dad….
