The way it's been abused, I can see the idea behind it. I think people contributing to the country should have a pathway to citizenship however. People committing crimes have to go immediately. We'll see how this rule applies when people have come here illegally, have a child, then commit crimes.

I can't argue. I was talking about this with a friend the other day. What if they have been here 10 years, worked hard, and can show paying taxes the whole time? Would you still feel the same way about the person?

Do you support the concept of a president changing the constitution by executive order? I mean, this time you agree with him. But your founding fathers were some fucking smart dudes when they devised the system of divided power between the Executive, the Congress and the Supreme Court.

my ancestors came here legally, assimilated, and contributed to making the USA a superpower; and some paid the ultimate price. I was born to US citizens born here, unlike nondenominational Canadians where citizenship and borders aren't important.


edit: and yes, many the so called "dreamers" came here illegally, and were given a free path to citizenship which will never happen I hope.
