Haven't tried the original. but this one is supposed to be re voiced and have more gain and smaller with an extra knob...I love mine...I posted about it in another thread here....
I just got mine the other day. It also has a q switch which mixes the boost signal with your dry tone. Its very subtle but it works. I suspect all the way up gives you the same effect as just having the regular koko on.
