I just recently fixed my computer and had to set up all of my recording gear again. Like, all of it.

So my demos are gonna be a little rough for a while.

That disclaimer out of the way, happy 4th everyone + take a listen to my attempt at some original music

Sounded great! Thanks for posting. What is your signal path?

It's pretty complex as i'm throwing a bunch of shit at the wall (i lost most of my templates i've made over the years when my computer shat out)

There's the engl with EV12L with a 57, straight in

Kemper profile of a larry, straight in, T75s, and a 421

Kemper profile of a 5150 green channel with gain very low, double boosted with an LPD 68 and a KSR eros, wall of sound NOSV30 with 57, 121, 421

so sextuple tracked with one of the tracks having three mics

Bass is a pbass with steve harris pickups and an swr workingman plus DI

Since i don't have any of the many templates ive developed over the years its going to take me a while to get things dialed in as well as they used to be for my demo stuff

Your guitar sounds killer and it's a cool track. +lyrics and solos next

It reminded me of some Tommy Victor or Dave Mustaine riffage.

If I get the itch to, I will

I just wanted to get the idea down before i forgot the riffs :hys:

thanks guys.

I didn't have any of my templates, track effects, plugins, etc for this so that's good to hear that it sounds okay
I understand this. When i lost my presets (my fault), it was inconvenient to use my daw.

But you have a great ear and the knowhow to make things sound fucking spot on like they should

Yeah it's a massive pain in the ass, and just takes a lot more time

Having templates and presets for everything just makes everything go so much faster

But i'm used to it, i used to have to work in wildly different studios with wildly different gear and systems so i can still make shit happen

It's just more annoying than I want it to be

I had my brother in law set up a ton of presets on reaper for me that automatically kept me from clipping and all kinds of other voodoo. I accidentally fucked it all up.

So now i have some decent presets i made myself that get the job done, but that transition from losing the presets to having to set up something workable was a pain in the ass. And it isn't even as complicated as probably what you had. I get it

Yeah there's a whole range of presets and templates that I need to use in a DAW to organize how i'm doing everything

There's the "keep you from clipping" stuff, the noise gate stuff, the organization and busses

THEN there's the "Effect" stuff - and I don't mean verbs and delays, I mean compression presets for snares and kicks, multiband for when your guitar tone is farting out on the palm mutes, etc etc

Sounds killer
Happy Belated 4th to you too.
Trying to think of what your track reminds me of? Queensryche maybe?

Thanks for taking a listen man - queensryche is a good band, not really one of my influences, but all power metal (both Euro and US) is technically what I am going for so that makes sense
