Ozzy died…

As big of fan I am of his albums, it's a shame I never once saw him live. I regret missing him in the early 2000s. RIP

I only got to see him once, in 2018 and I’m thankful as fuck I saw him. At the time I was just about done going to concerts, I was just jaded with them as a whole and had been for about a decade. It was a festival show and all day there’s all the fucking hacks playing, Bullet For My Valentine lip syncing, Shinedown lip syncing choruses, auto tuned vocalists all over the fucking place and then Ozzy comes out and the second he got onstage until the next morning I had the biggest smile on my face because HE had the biggest smile on his face.

He sang that whole set about 1/4 step flat but I couldn’t give a fuck, that dude was having so much fun up there it was infectious and completely rejuvenated my love of concerts. Zakk is one of my biggest, early influences and he was with them on that tour, I left feeling like a totally different person and will be thankful for that show for the rest of my life.

The last 20+ years I’ve seen him called a sell out and how he only does everything for the money more than I can count, but one thing I’ve learned from being around people with legit fuck you money is that they don’t do shit they don’t want to do, no matter what their wives want. No one can ever convince me his enthusiasm is a result of how much he got paid to play live.

Glad I caught him on BATM & was local crew for Ultimate Sin, and got to see the footage from the farewell concert. HUGE influence on so many of us
Rest in Power OZman

My first real concert was Black Sabbath in ‘99. We didn’t really get rock or metal tours coming to SC back then, so it was a huge deal. Set me down a path in life, I can’t imagine where I’d be otherwise.

RIP

Saw Ozzy in 2003 with Voivod opening. That was when Newstead was briefly touring with Ozzy and he also played with Voivod as the opener.
