Considering the timing, I wonder if it was assisted? Sometimes it's easier/less painful that way and if it's inevitable soon enough...why not?

Oz man was an alcoholic / addict he never really enjoyed stable long term sobriety. He had periods of abstinence and sobriety but being a
Beverly Hills multi millionare has its challenges in recovery.
He may have picked up again and when folks do that after periods of not using going back to their drugs of choice usually kills them.
He beat the odds for a long time but when your number is up, thats it.

Ugg, my Mom is in hospice on the 'natural' drug dementia. I don't want that for me. I just hope I can make the flight to Switzerland or wherever it is that you can go when you choose...and painless.

My first real concert was Black Sabbath in ‘99. We didn’t really get rock or metal tours coming to SC back then, so it was a huge deal. Set me down a path in life, I can’t imagine where I’d be otherwise.

I don't usually post in RIP threads, but fuck, this one really hurts. In junior high, my friends and I were obsessed with Ozzy. We would proudly wear our Ozzy T-shirts to school and write 0-Z-Z-Y in black marker on our knuckles (like Ozzy had tattooed on his). Glad to say I saw him live 6 times in the 80's/early 90's - Bark At The Moon tour (first concert) thru Ozzmosis (twice on the No Rest For The Wicked tour, just in case the math wasn't coming out right for anyone counting ).

I will be cranking up my favorite album of all time today: Diary Of A Madman.

Actually one of the first thoughts I had too. Especially with the Parkinson's diagnosis. He may have wanted one last time on stage to bring if full circle, and then peace out on his terms.
