Peavey 6505 vs Mesa Mark IIC+

In the mix I mostly preferred the 2C as even scooped the mids have some sweetness to them. Solo'd I liked the 2C a little less and the 6505 a little more. Didn't like either of them overall though for a lot of the same reasons everyone else said. The 2C is too scooped, leaving just the low-end and a bunch of fizzy high stuff and the 6505 has this weird mids thing going on. I can't quite place where it is, but it sounds like there is this weird mid hill that just shoves fizz in your face and makes the notes sound flat. I haven't met a 5150 I liked in part because of that.

Next time you play a 5150 try scooping it. Like really scooping it. Keep the treble low ish (4) or so then the presence high past 8.
