Can someone chime in on the 6505 regarding how it sounds?

May be just me, but not digging it. The demo wasn't really thorough enough for me.. Guess it's ok.

How can the 6505 mini be based off of the original circuit when the specs says it only has three preamp tubes

I played it yesterday at Namm and it was amazing! Sounded as good as you could imagine considering that it is so tiny! The "Lead" channel was as molten as ever. Amazing, the stuff that is coming out. Can be used to record silently and/or with headphones. FX loop, built-in reverb. Too cool!

This is a poor demo...at TGP there is another demo that sounds fantastic...

The clean/crunch foot-pedal control on the 6505 mini is a nice addition to the 6505 line. That gives you better control of clean/crunch/lead on the stage.
