Pedal Switcher Question

Pedal board noob here. Any reason this won't work? Anything dumb about my order of pedals?

The volume pedal can live outside the loop, and I am not really sure why you would put the gate behind the TS in a loop (im not well versed in gates, I dont do a lot of super high gain that require it).. if you move the volume pedal between the switcher and amp it would free a slot for the gate. It should work though.

Volume pedal is in a loop to avoid tone suck. Every pedal I have ever had sucks a bit of tone, even with active pickups. Tone suck and tap dance mitigation are my reasons for the pedal switcher.

Noise gate & TS are in a loop so I don't have to tap dance them off when switching to the clean channel. Noise gate before or after boost is an age old debate, sounds fine to me in either order though.

Thanks

Certain pedal switchers will allow you to change the order of the effects in your preset, so you can have the pedals in any order in the setup of your board for space saving or whatever. Certain switches (like the Electro Harmonix) don't and you'd need to set your chain up just like you would if you weren't using a switcher.

Not sure. I need midi and 8 loops. Don’t need re-orderable loops. Kind of on a budget. Maybe Voodoo Labs PX-8 Plus. Or there’s a used MusicomLab EFX III+.
The voodoo labs in a game changer. I own one. Love it. Have the power supply and pedal board with it. Hard to get much better than this
There are others and they are prolly as good. These folks don’t skimp. DONT SKIMP TONE

I might go that route. But there’s also a used MusicomLabs EFX LE, I could get away with the 7 loops. It has a loop that’s specifically for volume - what’s that all about? Can’t you just put a volume pedal on any old loop? Is there an impedance issue or something?

And what is an “insert” loop? The PX-8 Plus has an insert loop.

I cannot tell you about musicom labs. And im no electrical guru.
PX-8 PLUS has an insert point between loops 6 and 7, which is for a volume pedal. Or other pedals apparently.

I had my board setup that way using a Boss ES-8. Works great!
