If you don’t want to color the tone or gain structure, and just want more gain, hit it with a graphic EQ with the level elevated, or try a MK 4.23 pedal. It gives a massive, clean and transparent boost. Awesome pedal if that’s what you want. https://www.creationaudiolabs.com/mk423

Some great suggestions, thanks guys!

I would be mostly interested in those "internal charge bump" pedals. The "normal" 9V or even 18V boosts, like the Koko or the LaGrange or the Empress etc., just don't sound as dynamic as I expect them to. There's always a very noticeable difference between going straight in and using those sorts of boosts.

So far, I'm thinking aobut either going with one of these three pedals:

TC Integrated Preamp / Pepers Dirty Tree (9V to 33V bump)

Metropolous Supa Boost (9V to 120V bump)

Friedman Motor City Drive (9V to 220V plus 12AX7 tube)

MK 4.23 (probably features an internal charge bump, too, but I'm not sure)

Versus:

Legendary Tones Hot Mod V2 EVO

Has anybody here already compared the Hot Mod to either one of these "high voltage" boost pedals that I listed above? I can only guess that the Hot Mod will sound the most natural as it's actually part of the amp circuitry...

why don't you judge for yourself here... i think i prefer the sound of the amp boosted with any of the pedals you mentioned to the hotmod but if you want pure no pedal coloration then this is your guy

I watched that video, and, while it does sound good, there's no direct comparison to a "high voltage" booster pedal, so it's kinda tough to compare when it's not an apples to apples comparison...
