First, definitely build your own, don't pay someone do it. I agree with Reza, it can be quite enjoyable.
Go for the standard Pedaltrain (with hard case) and a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+. It's all you need and both are extremely well built. Add one of these pre-made panels from BTPA.com and you're set.

Musicomlabs makes great stuff. The Boss switchers are also great but they take up a little more real estate than the Musicomlabs and are much more expensive than the older Musicomlabs stuff. I would never use the feature of changing the pedal/loop order so I purchased an old Musicomlabs efx II for dirt cheap. It's all I needed and is very well built. It controls my Strymon and amps/RJM via midi flawlessly.
