Pepper, Hetfield, ESP and a lot of GAIN

Love Pepper and COC...He tells a cool story about how Hetfield got he and Woody hooked up with some custom ESP guitars for their tour together (was a great show - was at 3 stops on that tour), Then he plays a fe cords and chucks a bit on his like rig (around 2:25 in the video). I was a bit shocked at just how much gain Pepper uses live, and also how bright his tone is overall. I kinda like it, but definitely a bit over the top.

About 3 years ago I found a nice vintage ESP Strat with the illegal headstock. Sadly though, it had a broken truss rod and there was no way to fix it, so I had to return it. Action was so screwed up that it was almost unplayable (because of the rod being stuck).

I started laughing during Kirk Windstein’s Rundown when he started playing and it was a fucking wall of distortion, but I recall his sounding much beefier than Pepper’s tone here. Really surprised Kirk was running that made dirt and the audience could still hear it.

I saw them on the Load Tour and they were pretty amazing. Funny he was talking in the video about him and woody using old Gibsons up to getting the ESPs. Thats what remember seeing them use, from the concert. And those two albums Wiseblood and the one before it (can remember the name) were killer, I think it was a highpoint for them musically. Way better than Load. I went and bought an Epiphone SG the week after lol.

Deliverance - Wiseblood - America's Volume Dealer - That's a three album run of consistency and excellence that few bands can claim in my opinion.

He definitely has swapped out his Mesa heads for Orange...but no certain which model.
