V30s I believe. Does the cab have black piping around the front grille cloth? If so, I believe these are V30s 100% of the way.

Thanks, can't recall the piping at the moment salt and pepper type grill... was there an eminence version speaker or similar they used also?

No, they were Eminence V1216's in the older Made in USA cabs. And, careful, the frames will slice open a finger!

steve_k you consider Diezel "4x12 cabs 2007-2008-2009?" old? I've had my 2 Diezel RL 4x12 cabs for 6+ years now and they both came stock with V30s. Within a year I swapped out 2 V30s from each cab and replaced them with custom Diezel 12" speakers.

Great. You got lucky with the V30's. I was talking about the years that Uwe Salwender had the US distribution. I have a 412 and a 212 cab from that period, when he went with Eminence for whatever reason. I also have a new one from Germany that came with K100's, but had 30's and now actually empty right now. There was nothing custom about the Diezel speakers that I recall from the one's I pulled out. They were stamped V1216.

Perhaps Stapfer would remember.

Interesting... Seems like a grey area. The black 4x12 cab with silver/black grill cloth I had back circa 2006-2007 was loaded with V30s in an RL configuration. Who knows? It is what it is. I remember there being chat about these elusive Eminence drivers as well though.

This would have been around 2007. The 412 had a black grill was a FL cab. I know they were Eminence because I took them out and cut the fuck out of my finger on the frame. The cab came from a dealer in the US and I remember this also because I got in touch with Stapfer and told him the cab was supposed to have had V30's in it, but didn't and he shipped me 4 of them from Germany, free of charge.

So, they probably shipped with either Eminence or V30's. Uwe was driving the cab business from the US at the time and cut his deals.

Yep, Uwe was the man back then and Uwe was who I purchased the cabs from in Orange county near the original TM.

Trust me, they are very rich in harmonic complexity and marry very well with V30s.

On aside note - I don't particularly like the Diezel customs for recording. They sound great in a live situation but I've always had great results recording with the V30s alone and with little effort messing with mic positioning.
