Pete's eye

Pete Thorn is so Liberal, ("How Liberal is he?"), even his eye leans to the left.

I’m happy for Pete. But unlike him I have decided to not deal with my physical issues with surgery. It’s been a struggle for me but it’s my cross to bear. I have actually written an autobiography of my life and struggle dealing with my physical ailments….

I don't know why people would find this funny and wouldn't just support the guy but I guess it is RT and we let just about anything rip so I will allow it.. fun story, my dad has an eye that turns a bit outward. When we were kids, we called it " dad's lizard eye". Times have also changed because when my dad got out of university in the 60's, he was denied a job with Shell because they told him his eye would make people uncomfortable and make him untrustworthy. Can you imagine that now? Holy shit that would be a lawsuit for discrimination. They'd have to give him a job with parking and publicly apologize. Back then they just put their cigarette out on your resume and told you to have a nice day.

Re the "debate" about whether you should or shouldn't surgically correct anomalies that incur "societal pressure":

I lost one my big front teeth the other day and the other's not far behind. Within minutes I was making some pretty-good jokes about it and was "over it". I couldn't give two craps what people think. I'm happy to keep it as a memento of my decades-long battles with heavy-metals and autoimmune.

If the huge gap offends anyone, I say pay to get it fixed or you're overplaying the effect it has on you.

Sorry to hear about the struggle with auto immune symptoms. Working on retirement, as i said a few months back, after dealing with a lot of turbine exhaust, gun exhaust/ propellant smoke inhalation and oil and hydraulic fluid; i can sympathize! Much love and strength to ya.

Thanks bro'!

I can relate to your poisonings. I've had too many to mention, so many that yes indeed, old engine oil is amongst them. Painted a fence with it sans gloves so I spent 2 days with it all over my hands. 21 days later I could easily have died but resisted calling an ambulance (stubborn), instead "walking it off" for 8 hours in the middle of the night, from my TV in the back room to the front door and back umpteen gazillion times. Incredible pain in entire upper body and couldn't keep still for a second. Most peeps would've caved and been in a hospital before you could say Jack Robinson.

There's this weird thing that happens where heavy-metals can cause a reaction 7, 14 and 21 days after ingestion / absorption, the 21st-day one being the worst. Dentists who routinely remove amalgams are aware of this. They recommend eggs and butter to help prevent it from happening but in my case it didn't help any (that was a different occasion from the engine-oil one of course).

Yikes, I f'd up. Best not to even begin to discuss this stuff. It runs like a never-ending saga that obliterates my typing powers.

Glad you see to be OK now man. Good stuff.
