I get annoyed if it's a piece of gear that isn't already flooded on forums. If someone is selling a 'mint 5153', c'mon - we all know what they look like. If it's something vintage, then yes pictures should be mandatory.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular when I started this thread.

I just find it funny and, I'll admit, kind of annoying, when someone is guilty of starting a FS thread but can't be bothered to upload pictures. It seems like a common courtesy kind of thing to me, you know? Like something you should do automatically. Especially on items that aren't "mint" or have been used "on the road".

How likely are you to buy a guitar from a guy who lists it like this?

"1971 Gibson SG. Has signs of age and worn frets. Looks pretty good for being a vintage instrument! Everyone knows what an SG looks like. NO TIREKICKERS OR LOWBALLERS I'M NOT GIVING IT AWAY. $3500/PP you pay fees and shipping and for UPS to pack it for me."

I dunno about you guys but I'd have to fight myself from opening my wallet and throwing my money at that guy.

I would read the ad....then move on to the next ad. Wouldn't waste my time with him being a tire kicker asking to see the guitar.
what a moron.

Edited. I misread, apologies.

Doesn't bother me, sometimes they might be older and not know how. Either way, nothing to get too riled up over lol

Really, man? I see no reason to insult me.

And you know what, I don't ask for pictures. If I'm not interested, I don't PM people. But here's the deal; there has been stuff that I'm interested in but the ad was written like "mine" above and I moved on and didn't pursue the item.

Why would I believe that the person took care of their gear if they can't even be bothered to take an extra 30 seconds a upload a picture? Why would I deal with someone who assumes anyone who offers less than the asking price is lowballing?

Yet I'm the moron...

My guess is that Equ1nox smokes crack with his weed and considers it medical ...

Dudes, I have found what I think is the pic uploading issue here. I couldn't post any pix for the longest time. Would get the Quota exceeded message. Go into your user control and delete some old pix of shit you sold last year or whatever. It freed up space and now I can post not problem. The other thing is, the size limit per pic. Regular pix taken from you iPhone are large files. Take a pic of your gear, then take a screen shot of that pic by pressing the home key at the bottom of your phone and the button on the top of your phone at the same time. The screen shot pic will always be a small enuff size to upload on here. I used to have to email myself the pix I wanted to post and compress them, then save the new emailed pix back to my photo album and then post. It sucked. Just a couple tips that save time and allow you to bypass the photobucket route. I like the posted pix better anyway. You can spead the pic to zoom in etc...

I wouldnt say it bugs me, but I generally pass over posts that dont have pictures unless its a piece of gear im really in the market for.

I like the idiots that post guitars, but don't post a picture of the headstock.
I have a rule. No pic, no sale. FU

Zack has set the bar for pictures of a guitar for sale...People would do well to follow suit.

I'm a little less demanding of other gear but 1 picture isn't enough these days unless you're a known quantity. Too many scammers and idiots out there to NOT be protected by up front communication, good pictures and regular Paypal.
