Post your most aggressive looking ax ! I dont have one myself & Im lusting after a pointy metal shredder ... any of y'all have tips on the highest quality/best value for money x shapes out there ?

Got my eyes on the Ibanez Xiphos & ESP SD-2 ...

I know a lotta guys like the BC Rich pointys but I never played one that I liked.

I live pretty rural so I can't get my hands on many "niche" guitars like these without buying online ... my local shop has a couple Vs of dubious quality & that's it for sharp things ...

Man. Just pick which one you like. I love Jacksons, but bc rich are sexy, esp makes great guitars. You can get a great one from all the builders.

I ordered a jackson because i kind of fell in love with rhoads guitars.

I love living in the woods but not having easy access to a bunch of expensive guitars is feeding my guitar porn addiction ... Wasting time reading fretboard specs instead of actually putting hands on sick instruments

What i would recommend is getting your hands on a lot of lower end guitars from the different brands and see what feels good. Then if you want a custom, you know what you like.

But honestly, I had a $650 jackson rhoads before i got my custom. It was spec'd similar and was an awesome guitar after i replaced the electronics and hardware. I could have kept that guitar forever and saved a little over 3k.

I can tell you a million guitars that I like and think are cool, but I am more excited to see what you end up with.

BC Rich is a little spotty unless you find an old one (pre '87) or a custom shop. Their quality has been up and down since '87, got better in the late '90s when Bernie got the company back, then took a serious dive after he died. I haven't played any of the newer imports, but I've heard good reviews. They've got Neal Moser, who was one of the original guys in the '70s & '80s, building for them again and anything recently out of their custom shop has been incredible.

Jackson USA is good and their import quality isn't the worst. Same thing with ESP, although anything that says ESP and not LTD on the headstock is almost always phenomenal. ESP Japan guitars are amazing.

Here's a few of mine, just some old pics I've posted here before. I've got another Mockingbird on the way, should be here on Monday. I'll post some new pics then.

The only pointy one I own at the moment, Dean Stealth Dimeslime. I've had a BC Rich Beast on pre-order for three years this October but not holding my breath I'll ever see it. I have been on the fence about ordering one of those LTD SD-2s (Sammy Duet model), only because I've been waiting on that Beast and I'm a fucking miser, but everyone I have talked to that owns or has played one loves them and I think they look rad AF :
