Poll - Best Version Of The 5150 Series Amps?

Ive had them all. The Peavey 5150 II / 6505+ might be my favorite but it’s close between the EVH 100w versions including the regular and the stealth. The peavey combo sounds good too I had a couple of them in the past. The 5150 II head is the most balanced to my ears. My least favorite is the OG 1st version peavey because the lowend can be a bit fuzzy like a Soldano Slo.

Having owned them all...I agree with this. Peavey 5150 II and EVH 6L6 Stealth are the winners for me.

Very surprising to hear about the Peavey 5150 series malfunctioning issues...I know so many that have toured extensively with them and they are typically considered extremely reliable.

This. My Peavey 5150 2x12 was amazing through my 4x12. Never had a problem with it. I've heard horror stories about the Fender/EVH amps reliability, which sucks because those are some great sounding amps.

Yeah I would tend to agree. The 100s, then 5150 combo, then 5152. My first round with the 100s ended early because I could get my 5150 combo sounding like 99% identical. But the 100s does things the peavey can’t do. Those are my top 2, with the 5152 coming in a very close third right behind the combo. They’re so close they might be tied. But the 100s is the best, IMO.
