lol…My wife has bird feeders on the back porch and when the squirrels come by, my terrier becomes the white rocket of the south, when we bust the back door open.
I live on a river in the woods. I have 6 or 8 feeders out. Pileated woodpeckers, all kinds of woodpeckers. Bluebirds, indigo bunting, all kinds of shit you almost never see in a city. We've had at least one nesting pair of bald eagles the entire 25 years I've lived here.

But what if they're the cause? They seem to be evolving fairly quickly.

I can hear all the German Shepherds now, barking “Thanks for the hip dysplasia Jesus!”
One line of mockery is all you could muster? You think wild dogs never suffer from dysplasia eh? You've taken too many liberal arts courses.

That's a very arrogant human centric view, and shows a complete lack of understanding of how evolution and domestication both function. Also, it is fair to say that most livestock animals suffer what would be considered abuse, neglect, and false imprisonment if we were talking about a human.
It's a realistic viewpoint. I do not place animals on the same level as I do a human being, neither do you or anyone else. I'm sure the both of you have eaten meat, owned a pair of leather shoes or guitar strap, or have used some other animal based products at some point in your lives so your preaching is kind of empty tonight.

We’re really digging seeing the young starting to mature. Seeing their colors start coming in. If it flys in Georgia, I think we’ve seen it. Even some hawks and falcons, because the feed brings the chipmunks too.

We have an army of bald faced buzzards. They're big ol' bastards. Like 6' wingspan big. My shit is all under the canopy so I don't have too many problems with raptors hitting the feeders. The only thing we have to watch is the feral cats. Everything else lives in harmony. Squirrels, rabbits, coons, skunks, groundhogs, birds. It's like a fucking nature preserve.

One day your young, cool, maybe a little dangerous and the next thing you know you're looking at Amazon reviews on birdseed. :ROFLMAO:

Sure we have, as man has done from the beginning (well, maybe not the guitar straps) but we didn’t used to do it on an industrial level to facilitate material whims and wants as opposed to needs. We used to harvest animals for our basic needs and it was only to take enough for those basic needs.
Now we have massive installations with 1000’s of animals for all kids of products that are superfluous to our life. In quantities we’ll never utilize. But because we spread like a virus, a virus that likes choice and selection, we vastly outstrip the available resources ability to replenish. I rarely eat red meat anymore and would gladly pay a lot more and eat meat less often, if it guaranteed more natural conditions for animals.

Nature can’t keep up with us which is why we genetically modify everything out of its natural state to work for us. Why we spray and spread poison on that genetically altered food that ends up in table water and the ecosystem in general. Europe won’t accept our agriculture because of the Frankenstein shit we do to it, not because they’re trying economically to have the upper hand.

For decades we’ve fucked with animals with steroids, antibiotics and hormones. Messed with their day/night cycle so they’d produce more often. We’re paying the price anyway for all the health issues we have but just another hiccup in the road to growth at all costs. Must always make more profit.
We also used to think righteously about having slaves because we believed we were above black people. They weren’t as human as we were.
But hey, they were also getting free room and board and medical.

Humans are like cockroaches. No matter where I go there are thousands of the mother fuckers. It's insane. In 50 years this planet will be unrecognizable. I'm in the middle of nowhere and I can't breathe. Fuck.

I do. All animals are meat to something else, humans included, It really is the natural truth.

When you realize our entire supposed evolutionary superiority is based on a couple of high energy particles hitting the exact segments of DNA to cause the main mutations in a small number of our ancestors enabling them to survive and thrive within a certain environment which even that was severely tested when our species almost went extinct in its early anthropological history. Luckily enough of our ancestors had further mutations that enabled them to survive this genetic bottleneck that we then spread like crazy.

Further more because of that first bit of our evolutionary history we have now run riot to the point of destroying that environment, and rendering our own lives and the lives of many many other animals unsustainable within a couple of generations on the current track.

Yeah, I really do not place people above animals. Even going vegan has a cost that is measured in animals and species lives. The leading cause of rainforest destruction in South America is growing soy, both for fuel and for food. Eat all the tofu you want, it still costs lives. There is only so much pie in the world.

Personally I like to fish, and buy local/organic. But even that has its cost on the world. These are all facts of economy, and rational. No religion trumps that, and to say that because I evolved to be able to give voice to these realities I am somehow better than any other being even though I am captive to the same reality seems like hubris to me. The one thing that every other non-invasive animal in this world does that humans don't do because of our hubris is feed back into the natural system that spawned us in a healthy way. We've lost synergy with our environment, and become the most unnatural natural species to ever exist. When you think about it in natural terms the only way we are truly superior is as aberrant parasites.
