So, I think I want to try a tube power amp with the Axe-Fx. Right now, I'm running a Carvin DCM600. Sounds good, but I'm curious about tubez. My constraints are 2 space, under about $750. My main sounds tend to be pretty Marshall'y in nature.

I know that the VHT's get a great rep. Those seem to run around $750-$850 for the 2502.

How is the Mesa 50/50?

Marshall 9100/9200 (although I think these might be 3 space)...

Any VHT would be awesome
Rivera TBR3 would be PERFECT, except it's four space
Marshall 9100 would be perfect, but it won't fit many popular tubes due to it's low roof. (I ran mine without the top panel for a long time b/c JJ 6L6's sounded KILLER in it. (ended up taking four spaces because of this.)

Very cool! I'll have to do that a little later...

DOH! Prices are great, but they are in the Bay area and don't want to ship...

really under rated power amp is the Peavey Classic 120. I installed presence and Density to mine loaded it with Tung Sol 6550 and look the F*&K out! All for $300!

thanks for the info, Jeff.

(Peavey Classic 120 prices just jumped 20%)

OK. Peavey Classic series looks like they are bigger than 2 space, which I'd like to keep it to.

VHT - if I can find one in the $700-$750 range, I'll be hard pressed to pass it up.

Any opinions on the Carvin TS100 or the Randall one?

I have a Randall Rt2/50/2 loaded with 5881 on one side and Winged C 34's on the other. $700 shipped.
