Price Check: Mesa MK IIC+ Coli KG

My old non eq HRX had super fast response and that really thick / ballsy tone - Eventually I had the filter caps replaced/ + eq / ++ mod by that Belgian guy (33mods)
A freaking beast but not really used the ++ / I decided to sell it as I am not a collector and prices are crazy (sold it 6000 euros) and I just kept my all original 1984 SRGX as this one has more sentimental value to me (it was made the very same month and year I was born in lol) . Yeah there are differences but at the end of the day all mark models i've played sound different.
I used to be a member of that FB group. It wasn't ok for them that I wanted to share some Mesa Boogie Mark amps "A B" videos :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: and when I tried to post my ad for the 2C++ one of them who I've known for many years (and was super cool to chat at first) told me that the other admin wasn't ok with my posting a "non officially ++ modded" 2C+ ??
Also, he was quick to share his opinion that the price was too low...Needless to say that after that
I decided to leave that group as to be honest IMO I think they just created that one to control the market / crazy stupid prices.

PS - My++ was sold the next day ? ?

Not sure that a group can “control“ market prices? it’s a supply and demand thing, after all. There’s a slew of amps that fetch way more than IIC+’s… if you have the scratch, no worries. if not, then find something you can handle. If something speaks to you, you better jump when you see it… you might not have another chance. BTW,… looks like the amp in OP’s post is no longer available. Maybe they got what they were looking for?

The admin of that group got butt hurt, complained about my post here and then turned commenting off. Whenever anyone asks for pricing on buying or selling, they always give outrageous prices. I had an SRG, DRG and HG for sale. You bet I tried to sell for $10,000, but none of them sold for that. Maybe half. My SRG went for $5,000+/-, my DRG went for $5500+/- during the height of sales for these.

I posted my HG for sale in that group, the admin had his own H (I don't remember if it was H, HG, HRG, etc.) for somewhere around $12,000. I tried to sell mine for about $6000. I'd watch him comment on his own ad, comment on other stuff while my post pended approval for about a week. He obviously didn't want me posting it at a realistic price. I ended up selling my HG here on Rig-Talk for about $5500 shipped. That's why I kinda hate those groups where every single post needs to be decided if it's good enough by a couple people. If you wanna ask EQ advice? Needs approval. Want help identifying a +? Needs approval. Want to ask if Mike B shot hot cum in your amp? Needs approval. I'll stick to forums where you can post and share info freely.

So they like to think they control the prices, but the market will only handle so many wealthy dumb dumbs with $10,000-12,000 to spare.

I think I know who are you talking about lol

Have you checked his Coliseum price on reverb? ?

I found out about this thread because of the post that was made over there. All of it is hilarious. I love my boogies, but as many others have said, none of them are worth that price, but then again a 50's strat shouldn't be worth $20k+ either. The market will dictate the price either way. The gear market has softened considerably, I have a few things for sale and no one even contacts me. I could sell them for less, but don't want to, so I leave the prices where they are. Same thing with the mentality we're talking about, but my prices aren't incredibly extreme they're similar market prices.

I run a group with post approval and know the good and bad it brings. I just got tired of folks not following group rules and not staying on topic(very specific group) kinda like the IIC+ group. The difference is that if I see folks making a couple posts that are on topic I will set them up with pre-approval, he will not. I've been there quite awhile and only post related/specific posts/content to the C+ and I still have to wait for approval.
