I've said this a number of times, but it's just not the sort of thing you can appreciate unless you experience it. At least it was that way for me. I only went to my first total eclipse in 2017 because a friend encouraged me. I didn't expect much, and thought everyone was a little goofy for getting so excited over space crap. Maybe it was just psychological, but I have to say it was impactful on a deep level for me, so much so that I consider it a 'spiritual' experience. But sure, I can see how these sorts of events are hyped and commercialized, and how they are distractions or basis for false religion from a Christian perspective.

I've watched the past couple as I was in the "path of totality" which tbh seems like another newspeak term not heard until a few years ago. "Alberta clipper">"polar vortex"

I found them mildly interesting, kinda cool but nothing flat earth shattering, lol. Two discs on an intersecting course. The ice storm we had a few years ago was more mind blowing as I watched the woods basically shatter in real time. As a recovering protestant-zionist the eclipses always add plenty of fuel for doomsday timelines and predictions so it's a great time to be orthodox since we don't care about phenomena and therefore it is as irrelevant to me as the UAP's outside my window. I think he's hinted at if not outright said that if the empirical evidence supports a ball earth, he'd attribute it to Satan manipulating our perceptions. So, I'd say arguing about what the empirical evidence supports is still on the table, and is what I intend to do as time allows. How VBF chooses to interpret said empirical evidence, such as merely a trick from Satan, is separate and off the table for now it seems, or at least off topic and unproductive to discuss in the current context.

I don't think it's so much satanic as it is a case of limited human perceptions and perhaps some level of mankind's hubris fueling a need to state theoretical things with too much certitude. If you have a look at man's past speculations on earth's shape and general layout you will find wide ranging views throughout history, all stated with certainty. So in the long game mindset this is just another model, in a different age, backed by different/new "evidence" and schools of thought.

I don't have even close to the grasp of science and mathematics the way you do, but criticisms of general flat earth theories claiming light curving and parallax issues seem to just generate doubt for me since if we are talking about optical distortions, then it seems logically possible that the globe earth model is also generated from an optical distortion of a different nature not yet discovered. If anyone could explain it to me, it'd be you. But let's talk reality here, you are too busy to educate me on the matter and your time would be better spent elsewhere. But I'm ears for what you do have time to offer and am thankful to know you!!!

You don't need to teach me science literacy. But if you're really interested in being a part of the discussion you should refer to specific experiments, studies or evidence. I can't guess at what evidence you believe constitutes irrefutable proof because I don't think any of it does.

It's good to default to reasonable skepticism. But, if you dismiss the preponderance of evidence on subjects that have been widely accepted by the experts in the field, then YOU need to refute the claims and do it with better science. Saying "NASA is corrupt" or "It's a lie made by Satan (our beloved Dark One)" are meaningless statements, not evidence. If you are scientifically literate, then you know this.

What about stuff like the vaccine though? "Safe and effective" was what every "expert in the field" was chanting for a couple years solid. They were lying. The government has such a track record of malfeasance that nothing claimed by them should be believed. Also, when you google something like flat earth the top results all try to debunk it and opposing views are suppressed, just like during the covid scam. Trust needs to be earned and the US govt has done anything but that. I would disbelieve them, if only to spite them for their proven misdeeds and deceptions.

Because flat earth has been throughly debunked. So have phrenology, eugenics, humors, spontaneous generation, and the steady state theory for example. You've got a 21st century brain and the history of knowledge at your fingertips. None of it need challenge your deeply held faith. You only need to be willing to modify empirically outdated beliefs.
