where is your alliance. I was a strict Gibson LP guy until I traded for a sinclecut prs. Now im really confused, they are both so amazing.

I honestly like both about the same. I have had a CE-22 that I loved and I currently have a '77 Les Paul Standard that I really dig. I would gladly buy another CE-22 or 24 and keep the LP.

That PRS youve got is honestly the best all around guitar I have ever played. The pups are great. The neck is great. I have played better guitars but never straight from the factory like that one. All that said I am a die hard Gibson guy

i have a prs ce-22 and an LP standard and they are 2 totally different beasts. as to compare the singlecuts to les pauls tho honestly ive only played a SC once and didnt dig it too much.

Gibson offers more body styles that I like, and has neck shapes that I can jive with better. I like the headstock shape of Gibsons over PRS, too.

There are a couple of SE PRSs that I'd buy, though.

I've had both and I asked you on HC what you thought, it's really tough. No matter what, you won't get a true Les Paul sound through anything close, but the PRS SC is top notch quality, covers all kinds of ground and is easy and comfortable to play. Although I did have a Custom 22 that was rather uninspiring. :gethim:

I've never owned either but I've played a couple of both.

I've never played a Gibson I was truely happy with.... but every PRS I've played I've been over the moon with.

.I prefer PRS designs aswell, there's a couple -really- cool Gibson special editions.. but the majority of the recent ones are just fail.

I'm a LP guy and imo think they sound better for the reason they have a more unrefined sound...PRS's are great guitars and imo again sound more refined and are more delicate. My LP's can take a beating and belch out some sweet tones! But hey, thats me.

Ive never gotten along with the Gibbys. I think they sound amazing but theyve never felt right in my hands. More of a strat guy but I have a pair of McCartys that rule

prs guitars are the shiz

the day that prs makes a custom 24 with a floyd rose is the day il buy one

i like the feel of prs to any gibson anyday

I have both and love both.

A "good" Gibson pawns PRS every time...its finding that GIbson thats a bitch.

I played one of those Santana PRS at $5000 and was blown away and then
played another PRS at $7000 and it was POS made out of extremely nice wood...

i do prefer PRS, however.. the product line has gotten daft (the amps??? )

and gibson? well.. i think id rather buy one second hand, and i just dont think they're as consistent

Way overpriced and I don't think it is from the factory, though.

WOAH. Hold up. 2 things.

1. How long before Paul Waggoner and Dustie Warning from Betwen The Buried And Me buy it?

2. The back of the neck at the nut.. looks like it's broken? :S :S That can't be new.. and even if it is.. I've seen much nicer PRS guitars and it'd be cheaper to get one of those and have an OFR installed.

Yeah, the locking nut installation at the top looks like it was done terribly. You could most likely buy a Custom like that for like $1400 - $1600 and get one installed. I guess if you don't want to hassle and don't mind the price it'd be okay. But for that price, I'd be getting an SC 250 artist with a normal trem. :uzi:
