Yeah I thought that might be a bit much..12...is there anything that approaches that? 6 maybe?sah5150":2l45ess7 said:Just to be clear, it's not actually 12 gain stages. It is just 12 different clipping circuits on a rotary switch...keennay":2l45ess7 said:I see Cameron threads still do what they've always done best (as witnessed on this and other forumsbring out the best emotions out of posters!

Equ1nox & Alex, I'm glad both of you got your hands on a CCV! It's a solid amp for sure; I finally got the chance to play with my #2 pre-production unit purchased not too long ago.
Alex, I am (and I'm sure Equ1nox too) very interested in hearing more about your 12-gain stage Atomica modded by Mark, specifically the technical details such as what else was modified besides the gain switch & power/output transformers. The Atomica I own is my favorite amp, over my late 70's master volume Marshall JMPs, and I'll never get rid of it! My inner Electrical Engineering geek wants to understand every single detail done to the stock & modded units.
I'll hit you up later on Groomed Noodlers since I know you're a busy man.
Cheers,
Nick
