Oh shit nice amp list!!! So the PT-100 is still standing huh, must be one hell of an amp. What didn't you like about the Ecstasy and the marsha???

Yeah the PT100 stands strong. Also note I'm not getting the CCV because I think something is missing from the PT100, I have just been wanting to try a CCV for a long time.

As for the Ecstasy I had one for about 5 years and actually used it as a comparison along with the the PT100. It would def be my close second choice. Would like to try a 20th anniv. The Ecstasy is a little on the dark side and for me the red channel has a smidge too much compression.

The Marsha sounds great very open and full, not compressed at all. It def does sound better when turned up. That is what I like about the PT100, you don't have to crank it to get a great tone. For me the Marsha would come in 3rd or 4th on the list. I also took into account the other options on the different amps.

If the Elmwood Modena's Channel 2 was less compressed it could have been in the number 2 or 3 spot.

Chuck

Thanks for the post  Do you have any clips of the PT100? Love to check them out
Thanks

ya know, I just am not sure.... seems like guys really like the feedback control... I was thinking no, it wouldn't, but maybe it should have it. The other thing I was thinking was on the midi head, making it midi switchable with 4 options for settings. So maybe we do that on the 50- maybe just a 3 way switch, 3 set values, not footswitchable or anything but switchable on the head. I dunno, we will see.

The feedback nob loosens up the amp right? not as tight? That would be a perfect control for me and more than likely a lot others.

100w with a 1/2 power or scale down swicth, option switch for el34/6l6 tubes and or being able to blend two types of tubes like the Randall/Egnater 100 watt amps, Spring reverb and switchable series and parallel loops, Clean Boost on all channels. vintage modern mode.

Why bother with anything less than a PT-100?
Sounds sooooo sweet when Roaring!!
A half power switch would be a nice add on.

Reasonably priced two channel 50 watt would sell like crazy!

I haven't gotten to try a PT yet but the Classic Plus was the best Fender/Marshall switcher I've ever heard or owned. So the idea of a Badger-styled channel switcher in a similar vein with a footswitchable boost would be the ultimate, to me.

Quite honestly, the only thing the amp needs is a headshell redesign. Like others have said, move the controls to the front and call it a day. The amp sounds amazing as is. I wouldnt want any changes to the tone from what Im already getting. Almost a year later and the honeymoon continues...

One thing is for sure...if the new one devalues the current one, alot of folks are going to get an amazing deal on tone in the second hand marketplace.

I've got one shipping to me probably today unless the seller has an unforeseen problem, so I'll be getting one by the end of the week most likely, and I can't wait to try it out.

If it's as good as you say, and everyone seems to say that (Hopefully I will be soon) I doubt it'll drop too much. Bogner 101B's and Classics didn't drop much when the 20th came out. Shivas didn't, Mk II's MK III's and MkIV's didn't too much. they might drop a little, but I kinda doubt anyone will be giving them away. It's inevitable that within a month or two, someone's going to be selling one with the line "The old ones are SO much better than the new ones with all their fancy options detracting from the tone...."

Just sent you a pm. No unforseen problems, here

I really dig the hell out of this amp, if I hadn't had the oppotunity to jump on something that was a one off, I'd have kept it. :D

Just remember it needs some volume to really do it's thing, but Good Lord, what a thing it does

I think you'll be very happy. Enjoy!

I didn't figure but you never know. Kids get sick, cars break down on the way to the store etc. lol Lots of things take precedent in an emergency. Hell it was 9 degrees outside when I woke up this morning, and I'd forgotten to plug my diesel truck in and had to wait an hour to get it to start.

Can't wait to crank it up!

So anybody know when these are gonna come out, I am itching for a PT-100...

Any word if the circuits have been changed apart from adding MIDI, etc...???

I've been waiting for the tubes up midi switching PT100 to come out ever since it was mentioned and as soon as they are released...I'm on it. Lot of talk about the CCV and the PT100 in this thread so....I'll give my most humble opinion. I had a CCV and a PT 100 at the same time and the best way I could say it is...I want the new tubes up PT100 I keep looking at "klarks" PT100 for sale in the classifieds cuz I'm short on patience but will hold out. Sitting side by side and A/Bing them....The PT100's just alot more amp in feel and tone and just more badass which is the same answer I gave a year or so ago when asked....it's just more of everything thats good in an amp..

PT50 for me.simple/basic.

it should take pedals well for those who might think something is needed.

i love my Riot.and would like to have a go at the Koko boost.if needed.

Thanks Kurt for taking the time to write this!

I can not wait as well for the PT100.

DEFINITELY w/ the consensus here: PT 100 midi 3 or 4 channel head, w/ power scaling
