that super strat is my favorite

the classic style strat would be better without a pickguard. I'm just not a pickguard fan.

also, what kind of pickups were in it? If they were low output vintagey singles then kudos for having them with a floyd. The floyd can work very well with so much more than just hard rock, metal, shred, etc

And I feel the same way about double bass drumming too

They were low output Dimarzio Vitual Vintage and offhand, I forget which models they were... I think that I had 2.2's in the neck and middle... the next go around on the parts guitar Im putting together will have the YJM set...

Thanks guys. I am happy with how it came out and I can't wait to start playing it at shows. I had no money in the guitar and I already have enough traditional Les Pauls so it seemed like the thing to do.

I really like the color. Not so sure about the floyd.

How do you like the Suhr pickup and the coil spliting? Just curious if the coil spliting is worth doing?

The color was kind of secondary and the Floyd was pretty much the whole point. :)

I utilize split coil humbuckers quite a bit. The Aldrich splits very well. Split with the tone dialed back a bit it sounds like a fat Tele tone like early Jimmy Page or some Tom Morello.

Since this is becoming a purplish guitar love fest I will play...

If you don't mine me asking, where did you get the super strat? I've seen you post that pic in the past and I LOVE IT!!!!!! :D

no offense to kage's fiddle but i like yours better. sumthin' about the blackened edges...that being said...i don't like les pauls or floyds so, while not being to terribly slurpish on either guitar, i think yours looks a bit sweeter...

That is a cool purple. I have never seen a purple LP. Very nice !

I like it. Is the Floyd adjusted to the neck angle or parallel with the body?

The bridge is lined up with the neck but this doesn't make it noticeably out of whack at the body, if that makes any sense. I like some float on a Floyd Rose and I wanted to be able to bend up a step and a half on the G string. The way it turned out, that's about exactly what we ended up with without having to route the body. The bridge sits up off the body a bit just like a tune-o-matic bridge but it's just as comfortable/uncomfortable as any Les Paul, depending on your tastes.

I would hesitate to recommend having this kind of conversion done to anyone who likes a "dive only" Floyd Rose setup unless they tried one first. I personally don't like a trem that sits right on the body of a guitar but if that is your thing then this setup is not for you. It could be blocked off to dive only but it would still be lined up just like it is and not lying on the guitar top like a strat.

I'll try to get some good photos of the bridge area when I pick up the guitar for keeps.
