Scameron mods are legit great though. The key is to buy an amp someone else played the Scameron lottery on for you. But they are great sounding and feeling beasts. Back to the Windsor, I wonder if a hot mod would work in it?
Jerry's OG 5150 mods were his bread & butter, and notoriously good.Mod wise i thought his stuff was okay but very generic and not worth the hype.
I could easily say the same T. Davis & M. scammeron and a host of others.
The 5150 II was adjustable, as was the XXX, JSX, XXX II, 3120..No. 5150s are grid bias but with limited swing.

yeah they were.Jerry's OG 5150 mods were his bread & butter, and notoriously good.
No fja specialized in pv’s. Tons of videos on them as well as his website showing everything.Yeah, wasn't FJA, some pedal builder and amp modder but was probably local to MN or WI. Nobody I or anyone else here probably ever heard of. Hell, maybe they didn't do shit and stuck a sticker on the amp.
It’s fine bro. You the OOOG OF OG’s…. Do wtf you want around here pimp…Sorry for joining Dan in taking this off topic. I'll stop. That schtick gets soo freaking old and it's hard to not point that out.
Want that camaron sound for cheap? Buy a rectifier…..![]()
Depends who you ask. His amps always sound like too much of everything and out of balance.
Not Marshall at all. Like a 5150 & a Boss metal zone. But hey some think thats titz.
And there is absolutely nothing "legit" about building an empire on stealing & lies.
The OG Blockletter was non-adjustable.That’s what grid bias means![]()

Don't know about a Windsor specifically , but my understanding is the Hot Mods prefer a cathode follower vs the Peavey plate driven tone stack . As far as Peavey's , I've only tried the Hot Mod in a JSX .Scameron mods are legit great though. The key is to buy an amp someone else played the Scameron lottery on for you. I've never heard a Recto that sounded anything like the Cameron I had. But Ive never played any except the shitty 3 channel models. The only thing they had in common was the ability to have a massive low end. The one I had was like a mashup between a Recto, a Mark and a plexi. And sounded titties at any volume. I sold it because I sold off most of my collection to buy a house and I was scared to death if anything ever broke how it could be repaired with all that goop on it.Want that camaron sound for cheap? Buy a rectifier…..
I plan on grabbing one sometime. I really like my 6505+…. Not sure if there’s any similarities sound wise or not. This is going to sound crazy but the el34 5150 iconic sounds modded Marshall like and is also very affordable. Have you played one or considered it?
