I got the head like 3 weeks ago, and I was curious what you guys were using for EFX, reverb if any...and is anyone using an EQ in the loop? I cant decide if I like it better or not with the GE7 in the loop....opinions...thx

I've been switching between an Boss RV-5 and a Hardwire reverb in the loop when I rarely use reverb. I use a GE-7 in the loop but only to enhance the clean channel (EQ and to match the volume of channel 2 and 3). The GE-7 is a staple and probably the most important pedal in my EVH 50w set-up.

I use a HOF, Carbon Copy, and a GE-7. The EQ is used for a solo boost and also a slight bump in the midrange.

Great info, thx, any of you guys using the EQ to alter the tones on channel 2 and 3, not just for clean and/or a solo boost? really digging the head, Im sure some of you guys have been rockin it for years but never too late to discover...

I have been using an el capistan and a flint in my loop. I have a hardwire delay coming in as well. I am starting to think that digital may be the way to go for high gain and the el cap infront of the amp for clean stuff. We will see...

See sig. I know it's not the mini, but close enough   . I use the MXR in the loop, but only for the red channel. I don't like it on ch1 and ch2 for some reason.

Using a Nova System but no EQ. On some clean patches I do bump the output to help with the drop between channels 1 & 2 but for the most part it's not a problem. The boost on the Nova works great for boosting leads. The Nova also changes channels on the amp. Works great for me!

I've been using a POD HD500 as a controller and for some FX. Works and sounds good IMHO. I was just telling a friend of mine that this 5153 ring has been the most consistent, quiet, and reliable rig I've owned.... and I've been through a lot of amps even high end boutique.

I've not tried tried my hd500, for efx only, just yet. Been meaning to. Saw a guy (George Hollis I believe) on YT doing it, sounded good IMO but I think he has since dumped it for pedals.

I'm thinking of getting a joyo 6 band EQ and seeing what it'll do. From what I've read its a clone of the very early, now expensive to come by, blue mxr 6 band.

I used a digitech hard wire delay for a while with mine.. It was pretty much a win for me on delays.

TC Nova System in FX loop, only reverbs, delays, boost and noisegate. Works perfect with midi channel switching ;)

I use a basic Boss delay in the loop of my 5153 50watt , which also has the kruse stealth mod
