More surprised that a $2K amp is made in China. Oh well.

Isn't the Satan amp $2k and made in China? As well as A7X Schecter amp?

Kirk sounds like he just took a high hit off a 4 foot graffix.

Amp sounded like complete shite. IMHOP

"cough" "cough"...sellout..... "cough"

Bummer.

I don't know man, I'm hearing some cool ass tones in that playthrough video. Even in Kirks clip I hear a base tone that I really like.

I played this amp through the matching cab yesterday.
I'm surprised at the general negative vibe here about it.
I thought it would be right up RT's alley.

I like it.
Each channel can be dialed in for whatever.
The middle channel is really nice for hot-rodded Marshally tones, backs off nice on the guitar volume, is tight and heavy as I'd ever need.
The 3rd channel feels like an extension of the 2nd.
It was easier to dial in tones than any Mesa or Peavey I've owned.
It made a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet sound huge.
I wouldn't pay $2000 for it, but I'd definitely consider it at a lower price point.

for 2000$ there are a bunch of amps that blow it away.

Like what? Seriously want to know.

Engl Artist Edition, Orange OR100, Laney Ti100 and Randall Thrasher. And on the used market, I'd say Peters and the Engl Invader.

I thought the KH103 was ok but too compressed and processed/synthetic sounding.

Splawn ,EVH, Egnater Arrmaggedon, Vht d120 are just a few, Hell i thought my randall rd 100 sounded as good as the kh103. not near the features .

Splawn Quick Rod easily.

Or get a 5153 50 watt new for half the price.

I'd love to try the Engl Artist and Invader. I liked the Ironball I had and enjoyed what I sampled of the PBII.
I've had the Rockerverb 50 & 100, Thunderverb 50 and a couple of Terrors, not the OR100. I would take the KH103 over the ones I did own. I love the Orange sound at home, hate it when with a band.
I've had a Splawn Street Rod, EVH 100 and would take the KH103 over them as well.
I haven't played any of the Randalls listed, or the VHT Deliverance. I did own the Sig:X and liked it alot. I'd lean toward the Siggy.
Agree about a used Peters. Great amps.

I guess I'm going against the grain. The KH I played yesterday wasn't too compressed, imo. The 2nd channel reminded me of the JJ100, in the way it felt. I'd be happy churning out riffs on that channel.
The 3rd channel did seem more compressed if too much gain was dialed in.
A few people walked in when I was playing it, and they all seemed impressed with the sound. I played from clean to crunchy to metally. I didn't play any downtuned death metalcore filth flarn filth.
I felt pretty happy with it overall. Give me channels the first 2 channels for $1300 and I'd probably rock one.
Not a big Kirk fan, btw. More of a Mustaine fan. :) But I like this amp.

I went back and played it again today, and it wasn't as great as I remembered. It was kind of thin and trashy sounding. Was using a Fender Strat HB. Wonder if it was the guitar. Dunno. But, wouldn't buy it for $2g, especially after finding out it was made in China. It should be much cheaper.
